Well huge thanks to Peter Gidden for helping me out on the phone :thumleft: :thumleft:

today got the head off the engine..

found out it already had a metal head gasket on it.. but never mind at least i will know its all been done
anyways here is the pictures..

yep was expecting progress to be a lot slower but the nice tax man just gave me a nice rebate to pay for my holiday and get the engine finished.. hence why i just spend 280 smackers at toyota,
he was very helpfull and gave me a huge discount on condition i took the car up there to show the fitters etc when its finished as he had told them about it

got the crank pulley off now too next off is the sump. then its cleaning/ painting everything before it goes back together..


undecided whether just have a nice clean engine bay silver and black.. which i think would look superb

or to do the block red or green and the gearbox ...

also found when getting the crank wheel off the cam belt cover had no bolts holding it at all

little update for ya

daisy-may is now back at school so i can crack on with the build
engine block has gone red (you may be able to tell daisy helped with this and she is very proud, i like her helping

got some red vac hoses.. only them the block and the joint for the IC with be red, only a small amount to do it tastfully

cleaned up the cam cover thats going silver 2morrow

stripped off the cams and followers

dropped it of for surface grind for the metal head gasket and a good clean
hopefully pick up tomorrow or friday

pick up all the gaskets water pump etc on friday to the start assembly on sat morning

checked the big ends

don't think they are too bad.

cleaned up and painted my sump

just painted the rocker cover.. thats looking pretty good..

hmm what colour to do the toyota#

A Huge thanks today to Mr Gidden for being on hand everytime i phoned to help me through the first time of doing this

i now have a metal headgasket and ARP studs.. woohoo..
now just awaiting my engine gasket kit from Mr T to finish off..

This is how it looks today (the cam cover not fitted yet , just in place

he has been ahuge help really appreciate it tpp as i can confidently get it back together and mow know a lot more about my engine
