Hi guys
Had MR2s now since about '90, and think the time has come to get my first Mk3. I have found a Sable '04 which is looking promising, but i must admit i know very little about the Mk3.
If i get the car i quite fancy the TTE exhaust and Alloys, does anyone know if these are still available from MrT and is the front bumper on the car below a TTE bumper, as liking the look of it.
Cheers all

I did the same a couple of years ago but then went back to the mk2, a far more reliable car in my opinion.

Yeah that's a TTE front bumper dude
Pretty sure the exhaust and alloys aren't available new anymore but I'm not 100%
I bought a mk3 as a daily to keep my mk2 tubby for weekend but I find the mk3 suits me better. So much so that I sold the mk2 tubby and turbo'd the mk3.
I'm not saying the mk3 is better than the mk2, they both have their qualities. I just find that the mk3 is a lot more fun on the twisties when we go out for a blast

Cheers Vin,
Yes both have their plus points, i took out a Mk3 and loved it. Still love the looks of the Mk2 and relative practicality but will be hard to justify both to the g/f

Do what I did and say one is hers
That's how I got around building a mk2 V6

Re: Considering a MK3
You must have read my mind, i told her that on Sunday and emphasized the plus points of the airbag, and the fact that she can get the top down on the way home from work

Re: Considering a MK3
Cheers infamous, yes that is a bit pricey
Re: Considering a MK3
Expensive?! Blimey, you tight gits, it was more than that when the car was available!
Re: Considering a MK3
Fancy a MK3 converted with a 3SGTE.

Conversion cost is about £5K given the work involved. Think I'll put that idea to bed

It only started as an idea for me, it didn't stay an idea for long

Re: Considering a MK3
The other half has had a sable mk3 (a Red edition, totally standard apart from calipers painted red) to sit beside my old rev1 mk2 for about 3 yrs now.
Whilst I could easily argue it's more fun (simply lighter and better balanced) in the twisty bits I'd have to say I'm not so sure it's quite so well made nor with the lack of luggage space could I say it could be our only car. Even a big supermarket shop is problematic and anything more than a w/e away requiring a degree of luggage likewise.
For a second car they're great though...

Hi Mate
Thats what I am after ideally the 'Red' edition, called a few to view and they have been sold, although still showing on Autotrader The red roof and leather does it for me. Your right about the plastics though very hard compared to the mark2 and look to scratch more easily.
The practicality is pretty poor and thats why i didnt buy one when they were new as couldn't afford 2 cars, Mazda must have been over the moon with the sales they stole from Mr T, due to having a half decent boot in the MX5.
Do drive well though thats for sure.
Cheers Rob

Practicality if not what the MK3 is about.
Sunday 6.30 am on deserted B roads is where it shines. Cheap hooning... Few cars car match it on that count.
