Currently I've got a Rev1 E153 in my car, but as I'm in the process of rebuilding the entire car I've been searching the web for info on the different revisions of these transmissions as I want to pick the best one for my build

(will buy a used transmission and rebuild it).

Not sure where the revisions end and begin

(Rev1:1990-1992.

Rev2:1992-1993.

Rev3:1993-1995

?)

The info I've sourced so far.

Not sure on this.

The Rev1:

-As bad as is gets.

Simple/bad syncros

(can not be upgraded to dual/triple syncros)

-Parts for this transmission is more readily available and cheaper than later revisions

The Rev2:

-Dual/triple syncros adds an improved shift feel and also handles high rpm shifting better.

-Difficult to source parts?

-Parts are more expensive than the Rev1.

-Electrical speed sensor

Rev3:
Same as Rev2

??

I understand that there is also som difference in the gear ratios between the revisions.

Not really interested in the oem lsd's availability between the revisions as an aftermarket Quaife will be used.

Can anyone shed som light on the changes between revisions?
