1994 N Plate MR2 Turbo Rev 3 excellent conditon 91,000 miles

Post by Nails »

Been toying with the idea of selling up for while now, since finding out that we were going to be parents basically, our son is here now and whilst we have another car with back seats a 4 seater something would be much more ideal for me also. (May part ex for a STI Blob eye if you anyone)

Ive had this car since feb last year, previous owner had it for 6 years and was a IMOC member also, 4 owners including me, imported in 2003 (first owner was the import company I was told).

In my ownship I've done around 6 thousand miles in it, which should equate to around 91k in total, (mileage certs and etc add up) car runs sweet as a nut, nice and tight, no smoke, doesnt use oil or leak. I use it as my daily so it has to be reliable. (although I bought a punto as a winter runner so the car wasnt used when it was salty/slippy/crappy weather)

Tested till march 13, taxed till october

Its had 2 services by myself, 1 when I first bought it (first thing I always do with a new car), replaced the thermostat, flushed and fresh 4 life coolant, just before christmas it had another oil change, new plugs, leads, cap and arm, and gearbox oil change, also had new CRN discs and pads all round. (car probably only done less than 1000 miles since).

Ive also fitted a berk decat and fjustibo exhaust and greddy copy intercooler with a GTS Chris blanking plate, other mods include

Apexi filter,
MBC (car is running 14psi, never turned it up)
16" toms C7 Rays wheels,
Bomex sideskirts,
PP spats,
Tien superstreet coilovers,
Momo style steering wheel,
TRD gear knob,
Full leather re-trim,
Autogauge boost gauge,
double din Pioneer stereo,
sub and amps,
GReddy Turbo timer

It has a toad alarm and imobiliser all in working condition (CAT 1 with cert ) although the drivers door lock doesnt always open with the key fob and needs the key in the lock to open sometimes. Both keys and both fobs present.
The very few bad points are, a couple of holes in the dash where some gauages have been mounted (covered with a non slip mat) and a few small areas on the paint work which is in the pics, these havent gotten any worse in my ownship and the flask makes it look worse, the rest of the paint work is still fresh and bright red, the car is cleaned at least once a week and I am a detailing world nut, no rust anywhere as you can see by the arch pics.

I also have these which will go with the sale if I get asking price, they need refurbing and the tyres thats on are in good nick but are 195/40's and 205/40s, wheels are 8x17 and 9x17, had them fitted and they fit flush with the arches, they also need spigot rings and nuts but they'll be cheap imo, the tyres could be resold on as part worns

I'd like £3850 with the advan wheels, £3500 without. I think the car is worth this all day long. Really is in excellent condition with choice modifications, and its also running low boost (same as when I bought it from carlos) and its plenty quick.

Wow that is gorgeous. Any current engine bay, sill / arch shots?

Forget arches and sills. Just saw the detailing part!

Cheers

The engine bay looks the same as the last owners pics except with a biltz dump valve I forgot to mention and the shiny pipes for the intercooler/decat and blue HT leads. Its something Ive never got round to is properly detailing the engine bay, but the dirt in there is just usual stuff, no oil spilled or anything like that.

I know a lot of people say things like this in their adverts but I really am in 2 minds about selling it, Ive already owned 3 MR2 turbos and love the driving position, the power, the style. Being a tin top means that is doesnt leak either, and after owning T bars they're to much of a mess on taking off and on and stowing them carefully etc. In reality its only a couple of minutes but still you just stop bothering after a while.

The shinyest pic (pic of rear left with the fujusbo exhaust on) in there is off using poor boys black hole glaze then a pure carnauba wax called 'Obession'. Its pretty awesome stuff imo.
The pic of the rear with the japspeed exhaust is from a proper photography guy with a dlsr, stand and all that, the others are off my blackberry

currently in talks via pm, will let everyone know any outcome, still in 2 minds though for the sale, as I was thinking about a 330ci coupe but i really like z4's which would be stupid as would be back to square one, and if i go down the 330 route i'd have to add money to it which wouldnt be th ebest atm as still have plans to finish for my house/garage etc. i really hate saying that as it does my boobs in when other people do it :-s its for sale its not for sale its for sale lol

I was looking a deal with a WRX but it wasnt my cup of tea, think if a replacement was to be found in an impreza then it would have to be an STI with the PPP package, so if anyone wants to set a swap deal then its fine but a cash sale works also.

So in less words, the MR2 is still for sale.

Saw the car on Friday and I can vouch the pictures do not do it justice. It's in stunning condition. :thumleft:

Cheers mate, just rejigged the advert to make sense and took a whole bunch of pics to show its condition although the sun went in soon as I went out with the camera lol.

Big range of pics showing all round the car, its got to be one of the best ones on sale at the moment, and being a tin top not only does it handle better, you dont get wet either! (T-bars just leak belive me and SySanguinary above agreed too)

Thought I might of have some more interest in this with the condition and sensible mods.
I'm going to get the advans refurbed tomorrow so price will change if people are wanting to car with the advans.

Use the money to sort out the paintwork niggles and you'll have more interest i reckon.

As I said the paintwork niggles are made much worse by the flash in the camera, which I did on purpose so people could see.
Its never bothered me as you only see it when polishing so never got round to getting it done.
Its not like the doors or the arches are rusting. For the money a good running rust free MR2 should be a choice buy.
