51 plate 2002 Lagoon blue roadster

Post by RST »

I am advertising my blue pre-facelift roadster for sale as I may need to pick up something with more seats. I have had the car for just over a year, the details are as follows:

• ‘51 plate (pretty sure the log book says registered 2002 -TBC)
• Approximately 62,000 miles (TBC
• SMT
• 8M6 Lagoon Blue
• OEM hardtop
• OEM central locking / alarm
• Full leather interior
• Air conditioning
• Pioneer H/U with USB and iPod control, upgraded aftermarket front door speakers -some extra sound deadening installed in the doors also
• 16x7 White 5 spoke Rota Slipstream alloys c/w Toyo T1-R’s 195x45x16fr and 215x40x16re
• BC racing adjustable coilovers
• Aerokit TRD copy front lip, sideskirts and rear lip
• JDL side vents
• OEM rear spoiler
• Stainless exhaust manifold (lagged)
• Blitz LM induction kit
• MOT and TAX until December (TBC)

The car has service history and original dealers handbooks, original Toyota tool kit and space saver etc. 2 sets of keys (remote locking fobs) and valet keys.

The leather is in A+++ condition -no sagging and no noticeable wear to any bolsters. There is also a set of new OEM roadster carpet mats. The rest of the interior is vary clean and unmodified

There isn’t a mark on the Rotas and the tyres have done approximately 5,000miles. Car will come with a spare set of 4 original pre-facelift 15” alloys off an MRS with the JDM centre caps. These would do as a spare set for winter or they could be refurbed.

The pre-cats were removed 6 months ago -there was no sign of any damage to the pre-cats at the time. The car aced emissions test after these were removed. I do not have the original manifold or heat shields.

The induction kit was fitted approximately 6 months ago and the original airbox and fittings will be supplied also.

The car has been serviced near enough every 6 months in my time (evidence it was serviced regularly before) and has never used a drop of oil. No problems with any mechanicals or any electrics etc. The canvas hood was in mint condition when I bought it -but I have never had the hard top off since. The car was kept off the road last winter.

The paintwork is not mint and there are stone chips and small scratches -certainly not the worst I saw when buying and fairly average for the cars age.

I am looking for £3,000 OVNO which I think is fair considering that the extras are worth well over £2,000. Please note I have owned MR2’s for 6 years, and many other Toyotas in that time (member of owners clubs for all of them) -the cars are all very well looked after and serviced, I would not sell something I knew wasn’t right. This car has always attracted positive comments from passers by.

Please see the attached pictures for more detail. Please contact by E-Mail for enquiries, I am offshore for about another 10 days but will check my inbox regularly.

Thanks for looking,
Rich

Last few cars I have sold the new owners have travelled long distance, I am fine to collect people from train stations or airports or I might deliver up to Edinburgh or Glasgow area if required.

This is an old pic from when I bought it for the moment, the interior is cleaner than this shows!...

Chucking it down today so no clean-up but some updated pics...

2 points I noticed since coming home (I'm being 100% honest), first the drivers seat has some very slight wear on the bolster, this will cover up easy enough -I'll treat it when it's dry enough...

Image

...second is the passenger side storage bin is cracked at the centre bracket -I will replace the lid so it's good...

Image

I think I'll drop the price to £2,800 as am picking up my Elgrand on Monday -need to get this sold. Price does not include alloys as these are going to the scrappy. I jumped in this on Thursday when I got off the boat from another month offshore -short of checking the tyres and fluids it started up and drove straight off after warming up -just had to clear the scale off the brake discs. No problems with SMT or anything else, 2 people have commented on what a tidy car it is since (sadly neither looking for a new toy though!).

Drop me an E-Mail if you're interested please.

Cheers,

Rich

Hi,

Whats the exact mileage please?
You mention the service history - are all of the books fully stamped up?
In relation to the alloys you say they are being scrapped - why? Can you also post up a picture of the wheels which you are going to replace them with?

Is there any movement in the price? - I would have to travel up from bristol and drive all the way back...

My partner is looking to give her company car back and will therefore need another car. She is fixed on the idea of a copen, figaro or mx5. I am adament that an mr2 mk3 is the way forward for her! Lol.

Hi Karl,

It's the original pre-facelift 15" alloys I'm scrapping (I offered them as extras) -they're bubbled all over with paint flaking ALA Toyota standard for the MK3 -the white Rotas are pretty minty mint and staying on! I'll get pics if you want but to be honest I thought the Rotas gave better handling on TR-1's.

I'll update exact milage next day or so -there's a good bit stamped up, I haven't had it stamped as I service my cars myself.

Price is on near offers but your drive up and down is your own problem I'm afraid -I just did a 650 mile round trip for a new car -my choice, your trip -your choice.

...Also Karl.

Absolutely no offence intended but there's plenty of them on offer for more miles and equal / more cash, likewise some with less miles so please don't barter other adverts on my post as that's not really fair.

Cheers,

Rich

Karl, sorry mate but his response was totally fair and justified. Posting up other examples for sale is rightly going to put any one's nose out of joint.

It's a good looking Mk3, good luck with the sale Rich :thumleft:

I didn't say it wasnt fair a fair or justified response :?:
In hindsight the section of my post (now removed) which showed other vehicles for price purposes should have been through PM. I'm only human and I make mistakes - it was a long day.

If you really want to know why I'm not going any further; the car is the opposite end of the UK from me, and thus if I viewed it and couldn't agree on a price or didn't like it in the flesh I'd waste a lot of money. Plus unfortunately my partner has decided that she now definately wants a Copen ](*,) apparently a mk3 is too big!! Shes going for possibly one of the most ridiculous and tiny looking cars ever built, lol

Thanks guys,

Karl, no hard feelings hopefully. I saw a few MK3's and although I settled on this one I've advertised it much more fairly than any other I saw. Tough times I guess, I just had a quote off webuyanycar.com but considering the extras on it it's not worth that.

I don't want to re-MOT it as it's still valid for a good few months but I know folk look for a full one so I'll be even more generous and knock the price down to £2,750 as MoT's are all £54 my way.

Exact mileage by the way is 62,628, I don't want to drive it much more while it's advertised.

Thanks,
RST

Went to a trader today (unfortunately -but at least I got some cash for it). Am about to go back offshore -just can't have it sitting for another 5 weeks while I'm away and winter will be here again in no time.

I just have the luggage set and one or two small bits and bobs I'll sell when I get back.
