Exhaust Gaskets

Post by SuperRedMR2 »

Went to fit my exhaust gaskets this morning and they don't fit over the bores of my janspeed downpipe - anyone had this issue before?

Mine are a tight fit but i just bash them on with the palm of my hand, never had any problems with them not sealing.
How much to small are they?

Mine were a very tight fit too, dont use any exhaust putty either as it just breaks up after time and leaks,

What is the I/D of an exhaust gasket? I'll see if I can source a slightly larger one.

The metal kept on almost falling apart when I was trying to force mine on. Wouldn't even go on with a hammer.

I have a spare new one here Alex

ID is 43 mill minimum (varies a bit as I rotate the ring in the caliper)

Thickness is 5 mill

Were the gasket rings you tried from Mr T Alex :?:

The gaskets I had came from a head gasket kit so they were not from Toyota.

I might be able to get a Motorbike gasket

If you measure the ID & OD you should be able to get one from an autofactors.

My local Camberley Autofactors used to have buckets of them (literally).
