Excuse the ignorance .. MRD MR2???

Post by KarlBristol »

I was doing my usual daily troll of eBay looking at MR2s and related items and I stumbled across this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rare-GTR-2-To ... 19ce40e800

He says its a GTR-2 MRD car that is one of 35

Can't say that I've ever really head of the above. I presume its just a standard mr2 with a body kit stuck on it???

PS the back of it is horrid! lol

Can anyone shed any light on it?

I think they used to import and sell on with extra body kits, engine work etc.

iirc they did some nice cars.

MRD was a place in Liverpool called Mental Racing Developments (a take on TRD) they weren't an official body or anything, they just produced a kit for the 2.

I think you'll find this one was started considerbaly before :D lol

The car has clealry done its job and got a few people talking. As such I'd say that in some respects at least its a successful bodykit.

Its not a car I'd have, but good luck to the seller :)
