Have never driven a car with a welded diff Alex but it can't be very sophisticated animal :?:

I think that very early cars (made 100 years or so ago) had solid axles :)

A welded diff is a bit crude IMO. With an LSD the slip ratio can be fine tuned to optimise the handling.

Yeah i mean welded diffs the ration can be changed but alot less dramatic. On friend of mine has a drift spec e36 bmw 325. he has a 318 welded diff on the 325 as it lowers the top speed but increases accerlaeration and skidds better.

So that after market brake/fog light on the rear, can I get rid of it?
Really ruins the look of the back end of the car...

JDM cars do not have foglights, so there is no built in one, hence the addition of a crappy external one.

Personally, I just remove mine and put it on again come MOT time.

Why do that every year when there is a perfectly legal and nice and easy mod to the SC lights to retro fit a fog light into the spare space where the reflector is, there are a thread or two about this mod I have done it to my SC lights and it has went through 3 MOT's no problem.

Hey Chris do you have a link for that? The search facility on this forum isn't the easiest to use and I do really like the idea of removing that carbunckle for good!

So tomorrow's D-day.

Should I decide not to go ahead with buying this one is there anyone else interested in the car? Would be happy to pass on the owner details if so.

Cheers

Conditional offer made and accepted on the basis he gets it taxed and MOT'd!

Suspension, engine, alternator etc all checks out ok. T-bar roof a mess of silicone and dirt. So just need to wait for the result of the MOT in the next couple of weeks and it looks like I'll have my first MR2!!

Mmm... That does look very nice and I love it in red. Would be tempted, but I do like the idea of having stuff to do. Doubt I could get the red one down to inside my budget either.

Still nice to know there are other options!
