Whats the score with insuring it correctly then?

As you can't have later plates on a old car and this is surely going to cause issues?

The law is strange on imports as it goes by when the car was first registered in this country not when it was first manufactured.

Speak to GazRev1tubby about as he has had his rev 1 which was imported around 98 on an N plate for a while now and he's had no hassle.

Yep, my Rev1 turbo was a
'H' reg when I bought it.
I was after a personalised plate and wasn't sure what the law/s were with imported vehicles.

Called up the DVLA, and they said that because my car was first registered in the UK in
'98, I could have up to a
'98 registration

Bought my number plate and went to the local DVLA office to get it all swapped over
- no hassles at all

So I have an
'N' reg rev1

My Rev 2 has a 53 plate on it.

It's a
'93 car imported in 2003 and immediately on to a private plate.
When I bought it and they switched to a standard plate that's what the DVLA gave me.

Never had any issues but it does confuse people.

Think there's also someone on here with a
'54' plate MK2.
DVLA are awesome

Basically they don't know their ar$e from their elbows.

They are
supposed
to register them when first manufactured, not first imported!
But it is also possible the importer put that date on the paperwork wrong and that's why the plate got allocated.

They are

I blame inept data input monkeys
If you can't see the angle, you're in trouble.

An older 2 with a newer than its age plate looks really odd! Surely some dumb people have been caught out by this before?
Re: Another DVLA willy up, P reg rev1!
Hahaha, I never knew that! There has been lots of plates I wanted but due to the age of my cars I could never get what I wanted!

Just bought P10GE U so I'll be giving you a call when the transfer is done ollie to change my reg!

I've seen a V Reg Azure Rev4 a few times in Worthing, seemed a bit odd, perhaps its an import although
'looks' UK spec to me.
