Poxies are too soft on the sidewall IMO, much like F1's.

Have had proves on mx5 in the past. Love them - and they were cheap ;-)

I'll post up some pics of the tread pattern once i have done a few more posts!! keep the conversation going and I'll soon be there!

Why do people insist on referring to "Toyo Proxes" (or more commonly "Proxies"). A quick look at the Toyo website reveals at least 10 models of tyre covering everything from SUV tyres to performance road tyres to trackday tyres to drag slicks all of which carry the 'Proxes' name.

Quite right !!

I used to have the T1-S and then the T1-R. Sadly they discontinued the S when I got an unrepairable puncture and I ended up getting a whole new set (because I am right fussy!)

I'm taking the pee when I call them 'poxies'. Maybe I should say 'poxys'

It is a stupid name though.

What are you doing buying 'regal racers' then? ;)

I much prefer Yokos or Bridgestones. We put T1R's on the front of our DC2 (as they were cheap and we were selling the car). It was absolutely dire with those tyres on, lost all the front end feel. Too much flex I think.

Tyres are always down to preference though, I loved the Toyo Proxes CF-1s I had on the MK1, felt planted, no problems with handling in wet or dry and never let go even when being pushed hard.

Tyre choice is also dependent on driving style and the set up of the car.

What you don't like Lauren, othersmay find suits their driving style perfectly.

Its the same as people raving about Falkens. I rank them with Pirelli P6000 for their level of grip in the wet.
I am going to live forever, or die trying!

Tbh, most don't like to spend too much on tyres, fair enough. To be fair, Malcolm if your tyres didn't let go, you weren't trying hard enough. ;)

But I'll bet if you tried something like an Advan Neova LTS and compared with Toyo's you'd think the Toyos were rubbish. £100+ a tyre though.

It's all relative I think. I much prefer S-Drivers over GSD3s though because the sidewalls are so much stiffer on the GSD3's.

I've tried lots of different tyres in my time.

Not tried them. What car was this on?

I'm guessing not a MK1 if it was spinning the wheels in 4th in the wet!

DC2's work best on OEM RE010's. Pity you just can't get them anyomre. :(

Likewise though we put T1R's on the front of our DC2 before we sold it and they were horrible, like driving on jelly.
