Ultralite D1s: Will 17" 8j et32 and 9j et37 Fit?

Post by Ian M »

Hello,

My quest to find staggered 17"s may finally end if someone can answer this question

Will these fit my MR2? Is anyone else using these?

they'll fit but you might need to roll the fenders depending whether you stretch tyres or go for maximum grip

Stretching the tyres isn't a problem if a 235 or 240 will fit on a Rev 5 NA with 9J rears. I have lowered the car by 38mm with tein springs.

With the stretched tyres will she fit?

Using the wheel calculator thing, fronts will be the possible prob. Have to stretch 215/40/17's on them I think.

Rears are fine, maybe need a 2mm spacer. You want 255/35/17 rears if avaiable? :thumleft:

Results show below.

MR2 (mkii) Flushness:
Your proposed front wheel will be 3.35 mm farther out than flush (flush offset: 35.35).
Your proposed rear wheel will be 1.65 mm tucked in from flush (flush offset: 35.35).

Wheel Comparison:
Your proposed front wheel will stick out 38.4 mm farther than your old wheel.
Your proposed rear wheel will stick out 33.4 mm farther than your old wheel.

Speed Comparison:
Old rear tire revolutions per kilometer: 525.
New rear tire revolutions per kilometer: 522.
New rear tire is at 101KPH (63MPH) when spinning at the old tire's 100KPH (62MPH) RPM.

These sizes fit on my 1991. Front wheel is proud by ~3mm, but 215 tyre is stretched a little bit and there's no rubbing. No rolling or other modification was done either.

17x8 et32 with 215/45R17 on the front
17x9 et38 with 255/40R17 on the rear.

Sorry to resurrect, but I had missed the reply to this one.

I'm on stock original non-lowered suspension and non-rolled arches as well.
