Discussion and technical advice the SW20 MR2. 3S-GTE, 3S-GE, 3S-FE etc
Anything and everything to do with maintenance, modifications and electrical is in here for the Mk2.
Stretching the tyres isn't a problem if a 235 or 240 will fit on a Rev 5 NA with 9J rears. I have lowered the car by 38mm with tein springs.
With the stretched tyres will she fit?
Regards
Ian
Using the wheel calculator thing, fronts will be the possible prob. Have to stretch 215/40/17's on them I think.
Rears are fine, maybe need a 2mm spacer. You want 255/35/17 rears if avaiable?

These sizes fit on my 1991. Front wheel is proud by ~3mm, but 215 tyre is stretched a little bit and there's no rubbing. No rolling or other modification was done either.
17x8 et32 with 215/45R17 on the front
17x9 et38 with 255/40R17 on the rear.
