If I made an offer it would be massively less than£5K however good it may look.
Saying that reminds me a friend's son bought one from a garage& it turned out to be a ringer

I was chatting to a guy at Tatton Park last weekend who paid£12K
(I kid you not) for a Mk1 with 27 mile
(something like that) on the clock.
He doubled the mileage bringing it to the show!
Still, I doubt it's worth 12K anymore, but I would guess that that car is most definitely not for sale!

35 miles actually he added another 20ish going to tatton, its 12K value is entirely dependant on someone else wanting it and having 12K to spare, that car was once sold on ebay for over 13K but the buyer wouldn't pay the import costs to the US so it was sold on for a loss, Montys Toyota were at one time asking 15K for it, I know of a white T bar with 2.5K miles on the clock that was sold for£10K a couple of years ago, this is of course the extreme end of the market and figure of 1/4 to 1/3 of those mentioned are still too salty for the real MR2 MK1 market

The White T-Bar you mentioned is mine.I've owned it for 4 years now, the previous owner had it from new.
It's been garaged all it's life and has never seen a wet road! Unfortunately it doesn't get as much use as I'd like and hence it's only just clicked over onto 3,000 miles when I took it out a few days ago.

Regarding their values as people have said they're worth whatever someone will pay for them, but likewise as Lauren said exceptional examples will always command exceptional values and I'm sure this applies to most cars.Mines insured for an agreed value of
£10,000 and the insurer was more than happy to agree to this based on the mileage and condition and required no inspection.
I had to sell a MK3 Roadster to buy it but I've never regretted it for a moment I love it to bits
I'd always wanted a MK1 and wanted one when they were new but couldn't afford it, so when this one turned up which was basically
'as new' I just couldn't resist.
For me the feeling of owning and driving a MK1 that's as good today as it was 22 years ago makes it worth every penny

Actually I did pop along to the North Cotswold meeting a couple of weeks ago but apart from Mel the area organiser and myself there was no one else there even though it was a lovely sunny evening.
