1990 mk2 3s-ge t bar

Post by 4ndee »

Before i start, people seem put of that there is lots of work and wonder why i am selling, i am selling due to wanting a gt4 that i can turn into a track car, I was thinking about turboing the mr2, but i figured its easier to just buy one.

sports Clutch good for 300bhp, cambelt kit, headgasket done! the jobs everyone is put off by.

T bar great for summer no leaks

mot till feb 2012
tax till august 2011
166km = 102kmiles?

Headgasket done in april 2011
as well as:
cambelt
cam oil seals
performance big end bearings
oil and filter change
10w40 castrol magnatex
clean and painted top end
new cap and rotor arm

Clutch done in feb 2011:
as well as:
re furb gearbox
new gear oil
uprated gearlinkage bearings

lots of mods and money spent, selling due to wanting a gt4. One of the few mr2s with no rust or rot anywhere, part of an owners club and well looked after. New clutch, cambelt etc, so no need to do any work.

Was supposed to be swapping for a GT4 this weekend but not now, the owner asked that i carried out a pre mot on the car before hand, so i have a copy of a mock Mot, brake test result and emission result from this weekend.

Car comes with full service history since it was imported in 2000, 5 years at toyota.
few of the good bits:

TOMS style air scoop

Turbo engine cover

Custom made Pheonix Power departure 2 exhaust.
Not made for an N/A and was made to fit.
obviously no cat litterally manifold to back box.
Sounds amazing.

Pippercross Foam air filter
with cold air intake feed.

17" Rota D1 alloy wheels, recently re furbed with good tyres
205/40zr17 Toyo TR1S on the front
225/45zr17 Federals on the rear

Drilled and grooved front discs with new pads fitted a few weeks ago.
newish rear pads and discs.

Short shift with TRD leather gearknob
Montary D sports steering wheel
carbon fibre wrapped dash

the interior is excellent, no rips or tears in the seats or dash. Lockwood white dials with blue l.e.ds.

Lots of work done, time money and sweat and tears. My misses will tell you how long i have spent fiddling on it :P

There are a few not so good things too. The car is 21 years old so it obviously is not perfect. The underneath is mint but the don't forget the exterior is 21 years old so it has a few scratches in it and dings from careless car park people. It also uses a little bit of oil, but nothing to worry about. You will be very hard pushed to find a cleaner mr2 for the price with this level of work done to it.

The price the car sells for is the price you pay, Buy it now means you commit to buying the car, no haggling after you win the auction. Viewings are welcomed before the end of the listing, and car needs to be collected within 7 days. No time wasters Please. Cash on collection

Sensible offers will be considered and i am open to PX with anything jap and exciting.

How long have you owned it for and how much did you buy it for? Personally for a stock rev1 N/A in good condition I`d pay 1500-1700 if in very good nick. Yours has a few nice mods too, so maybe you could fetch a bit more than that but as everyone always says, dont expect money back for modifications.

My opinion 1600 - 1800 pounds, dunno what others would pay or what you expect to get. Good selling point is the servicing/cambelt/leads/plugs, so the buyer will not have all that to do straight away.

Looks like you have good wheels/brakes/gearbox etc too, so maybe if you had the key scratch sorted it might fetch a bit more.

all the ones i have seen for a grand are sheds with tatty interior and poor paint work, for a good one with no problems i agree with D4N_V_U.

1600-1800 for a rev1 is a .. bit excessive to be honest, decent rev3 examples can be had for that. No matter how mint it is, it's still 20+ years old and way inferior to rev3+.
Current: 2007 Porsche Cayman S
Gone: '94 rev3 NA, '92 rev2 Turbo forged, '07 Civic Type-R
