Best Revision N/A and Turbo?
With all the Revisions out there I've been wondering which is considered the best on the N/A and Turbos models?
Re: Best Revision N/A and Turbo?
i think they all have their dis/advantages, and each revision owner will claim theirs is the best, but i think rev3> is what you want.
.
.
all depends on long term goals.

What makes you say this Patrick?
As far as I know

rev4 onwards had:
improved ABS,

S/Steel sills,

passenger airbag,

wing indicators

green tint instead of rev1-3 brown windows

rev 5 had lighter wheels

Re: Best Revision N/A and Turbo?
This is such a personal choice and so many take theirs and try and make them what they want them to be.
Why do you want to know?
I don't think
-you are going to be able to select the
"best spec" and go out and buy one.

My 2p worth.
Rev 2 looks any day
(spoiler and rear lights).
It's the car it was meant to look!
But either
(rev 5) gen 4 3SGE or
(rev 3+) gen 3 3SGTE engine.
I had no quarms with my UKDM gen 2 3SGE, but not the best engine combo out there.
I'm not that fussed personally about ABS, TRC, air bags etc
-everything else is easy changeable I guess.

S/Steel sills,

You mean sillplates maybe?

I wish my rev4 sills were stainless.

So how does a rev 1 different to a rev2? I'm unsure never seen them side by side

Looks of the Rev1 but uprated stuff eg brakes etc

I would say Rev5 as its newer but depends what your wanting to do I think eg leave stock or mod it
Re: Best Revision N/A and Turbo?
I prefer looks of rev1 and 2, so for me would be rev2 but I have a rev1, no right answers, depends what you want and what you want to do with it.
Budget will of course be a big influence, which is why I have a rev1

Re: Best Revision N/A and Turbo?
surely its the rev 3? its the cheapest car with the best spec for the money
(ct20 turbo, metal headgasket, oval rear lights, better spoiler)

Re: Best Revision N/A and Turbo?
As has been said already it's horses for courses.
The big change from rev1 to 2 lies in suspension since mounting points and geometry were changed in an attempt to make the car more err,
'manageable'.
Bigger brakes are the next most obvious change.

I love the basic nature of my rev1.
No abs, pas, a/c, airbags etc.
but then for many they would be the reasons to go for the later cars.
The question is what sort of vehicle do you want.

Re: Best Revision N/A and Turbo?
Me too, I like the back to basics as my second car, no abs, p/s etc.
and putting the key in the door, not done that for a good while.

Re: Best Revision N/A and Turbo?
I not after buying another car.
.
.
I've got a Rev2 and love it.
It's just something I was thinking about in my lorry
(if your the south west Or Wales way and a lorry flashes to let you in, it's probably me cos why would someone flash you in when you've just passed a lorry bumbling along at 56mph and your doing 70mph
) to pass the time.
The only thing I've never liked is the look of the later Revs wheels, skinny 5 spoked things like the ones on the MRS.

Because 99% would vote for their own rev and all you'd end up finding out is the split of ownership between revisions

From a technical point of view you'd have to say the rev 5 was the best as it was last evolution.

Re: Best Revision N/A and Turbo?
I've got a rev2 but I'd want a rev 5 simply as it's the most up to date and refined.

Rev 5 turbo is the dream.

But technically the rev5 has no improvements over the rev 4?
