Not sure you can really call it a build when it's just bolt-on mods really, but anyway, here goes:

As I said, bought back in 2009, after much searching for something that wasn't hanging together with rust, or fitted with lexus lights and the like:

I took it for a bit of a drive up north to get used to it, and took some pics:

The first thing I wanted to do

A few months after, a brand new set of OEM black bilstiens were ordered up and fitted:

The car seemed to be handling a lot sharper now, and I was fairly happy with the results.

Next I wanted to refurb the Super Advans, which had seen better days.

I really wasn't too keen on the silver colour either:

After doing some reading as what colours these wheels were available in from the factory, and taking inspiration from the Border Racing SW20, I decided Gold was the colour to go for

Next I decided to fit a Blitz Turbo Timer, to take any strain from a trackday etc off the turbo

Then I took a trip with a few mates up to Crail Raceway:

Which I thought wasn't too bad for a fairly stock example.

Next up, I wanted to add some lip-age.

I liked the chunkiness of the Border Sideskirts, but thought the front bumper was a little over the top.

After a bit of paint, the skirts

The Edinburgh pot holes then took their toll on the Top Mounts, and the passenger side had started to knock.

I decided to replace them with some Cusco Pillowball adjustables:

I then decided it was time to up the power, so added an electronic Blitz Dual SBC Boost Controller.

I then added a Blitz Decat pipe:

Next I wanted to finish off the rear of the car, as it always seemed to look high with the standard bumper.

Initially I had thought of going for a Toms bumper, but after looking at some pictures, I decided it might not be low and chunky enough to match up with the Border Skirts.

So I went for a set of Border Spats in the end.

Here they are pre-paint:

I then went for another Geometry setup, just to make sure everything was as it should be:

Due to running higher than stock boost, and the all-round crap-ness of the stock SMIC, I decided to upgrade it.

I was thinking of going down the ST205 CC route, but thought that it really was quite a bit of hassle, to do.

After a few weeks of reading, in the end I bought a GReddy SMIC:

Went for a drive down the A702 to Moffat with some mates, testing out the new intercooler.

It seems to make the turbo spool up a little slower

More breathing next, and I purchased a full-stainless 5Zigen Border 304 Max exhaust, partially heat wrapped.

This was mated up to the Blitz Decat pipe:

Next I changed the brake lights back to they way they would have been in Jappannyland

I wired up a foglight switch-over with some trusty maplin diodes.

That's it so far, next up with probably be some poly bushes of some sort, and some new tyres, as these are starting to get low.
