Hi guys, picked this up on friday:
Its standard apart from a Momo wheel, Exhaust and Induction. Not sure what the exhaust is (I have pretty much every receipt for this car since new), and the induction kit is a K&N item - no idea how it compares to other kits. Sounds good though
Has a FSH, and it is in great condition - the wheels could do with a refurb, and needs two new rear tyres pretty soon - only a couple mm left. I am thinking of getting some nice 16's, Rota Grids perhaps?
Drove it home from Stafford to Colchester on Monday, no issues so far
Big thing on the list after the recent weather is a clean and wax / polish - the 180 mile journey has caked it in crap

Thanks! Yeah, its the first MR2, gone from a 1.poo Corsa C to this. I think the only two things the C has over this is economy and a softer ride, but the MR2 is better in every other respect.
I was quite impressed with its fuel consumption on the motorways though, did a 180 mile journey on monday and used approximately half a tank of fuel, which seems very reasonable to me!
rear tyres need replacing soon - looking at £100 a corner fitted for T1R's again. If I have the money, I'm thinking this would be a good time to consider some nice 16's. No doubt this will lead to coilovers or decent springs and shocks
Immediate plans are to sort a couple of minor issues - the spare fob needs a new battery and I need to dismantle the aerial motor to see if its fixable. After that, I have the Alpine iDA-X100 to fit, and I am planning on getting some nice 6.5inch components and a decent amp - not going to worry about a sub - clarity is more important to me, so I'll be spending money I would have spent on a sub on better comps or amp.
I am not planning on doing much bodywork wise - maybe a Rev.5 adjustable spoiler CC'ed black to match the roof?
In terms of mechanical / power, I am not sure what gains you can get from the 3S-GE without spending silly money. getting it up to 200bhp would be nice, and if that is achievable with breathing mods, cams and a remap then that would be considered over time. I would love to swap a BEAMS 3S-GE in there, but we can all dream

Tyres had less than I thought, so alloys are out - ordered some T1R's at £100 each for the rear, fully fitted.
Onto the not so good news - the car has developed a clutch related noise - when the clutch is engaged there is a light 'rattling' sound - inverted commas because it isnt really a rattle, but thats the closest word I can think of .
It sounds like a bearing, from searching I think it is probably the input shaft bearing, not the clutch release bearing? The loudness varies a lot for no apparent reason - sometimes when you start the car it is louder than the day before, indeed, sometimes I cannot hear it at all!
First thing will be a gearbox oil change, and go from there I think.

I don't suppose you got yours from a dealer in Maidstone? If so, I was considering buying what is now your car, but this one came up before I went back home over christmas - Stafford for uni, and Colchester when Im at home!

I am quite annoyed though. In the space of a month, 3 dents have appeared - one at the back, one on the front left wing and one just in front of the drivers door.
Why the xxxx cant people be more considerate? I really dont like it when people park across two bays, but at this rate I am not going to have an undamaged panel left
