maybe time to design an active spoiler like on the veyron

I've considered turning the bootlid into an airbrake on the sprint car

All it needs for a rudimentary system is a suitable ram activated off the brake light circuit

I'm sure I've seen this done in a "how to" feature with pictures somewhere.
I think it may have been in a past copy of MR2 Only Magazine.

That'll be the Plumley mod you're thinking of Bod. That involves moving the spoiler back about 3 inches and a wee bit of fettling to smarten it up. :thumleft:

Just to confirm, it is debatable as to whether it does anything? I have driven at 120mph and the front was light, I am assuming it was due to the rear spoiler. Is there something else that caused this?

Why ruin the looks of it any way?

CFD modelling has shown that a low pressure area forms over the bonnet at speed, making the front end go light. Simplest way to sort it is to fit a vented bonnet - doesn't need to be anything too drastic, there's a couple of pics of one in this thread http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic. ... ight=papal . A small vent like this doesn't affect the front boot, and vents air from the radiator pretty much exactly where the low pressure area normally forms, thus reducing its effect.
