I arranging my amp/sub setup and was wondering has anyone ever cut out the metal section that the original sub fires out of, ths droping my sub enough to ensure a better fit.

is this good practice or not a good idea?

This still allows the seat to be reclined and to go to the second last notch backwards, about half inch off the last notch, so pretty much all the way!
I would decide on what sub you want to put there before hammering it out!If you want a 10 or shallow 12, you can get away with not, allowing you to reverse it if you ever want to easily! if you want a 15 or deep sub hack away!
