In my case I got a
'cash-in-lieu' settlement meaning that I got a full payout based on the value of the pre-accident car
(which we agreed with no dispute!) minus 17% for the insurance company which would have been their cut from salvage.
The car was NOT declared a write off and it's then up to me to repair it.
