Personally I dont think it will cause much problems where it is. if it was right next to your engine maybe but Imagine how hot the air will be anyway once its through the turbo and the IC hot pipe above the manifold. ;)

Well after removing the OEM CAI and intake assembly theres more space in the bay and I can actually see the vent from where I stand. I guess if they make the pipe a bit longer that snakes closer to the vent would be better if there's no problems when fitting it.

Anyway, this is my first DIY engine mod lol proud of myself newbie self :P

Will attempt harder things like Boost gauge or maybe a HKS SSQ next when I find the cash.

Harder? I bet installing the Air Filter would be harder than doing them 2 mods ;) You will be fine :)

Boost Guage hardest part of that will be running the vacuum pipe inside the car

HKS SSQV hardest part of that is just undoing one bolt (it realy is that simple :) )... Actaully Hardest part of that is nothing to do with the car, its getting the SSQV onto its mount using that stupid C Clip idea that they thought about

Yeah, the HKS SSQ looks easy to put on but if the instructions are all in Japanese well I guess might take some time to guess :P

As for the boost gauge, I guess I might disconnect some pipings to access the grommet that leads into the cockpit? That might take some time but the knowledge base article is very helpful.

However, the first step mentions connecting the vacuum hose to one of the pipes from the intake manifold. I thought I must connect it to somewhere near the boost valve on the firewall? :?

Mine is connected here -

If you look at my HKS SSQV follow the pipe running from that and too the engine.

Heres a closer shot -

You can see the blue silicone hose comming from a T Peice which leads to the engine and the stock dump valve. That Blue silicone hose is going to another T peice thats supplying my Boost controller and Boost guage :thumleft:

Nice engine! :thumleft:
Edit: Nmind, I think I sort of get it now. What happens when I want to remove a T joint though? I do I join the two pipes back together?

Also, can anyone confirm if the diameter of the pipe (Rev3) for the intercooler is 60mm or 63mm?

Thanks, I have some Blue Silicone vacuum hoses on it now and a Charge cooler to go on so will look different soon :thumleft:

Yea, if you ever want to remove the T joint you can get a straight joint to join the 2 pipes together or just replace the whole pipe so it has no joins :thumleft:

Induction kits on the Mr2 turbo dont really add any additional bhp whatsoever, the standard airbox does not become a restriction to tuning until around the 500 bhp mark.

What the induction kit does is pull in more air but at the expense of hotter air and as a result the difference is neglible at most tuning levels.

The main difference with the induction kit is simply the increased noise.
