Rev2 GT-S. Monster engine build, used exterior. Gauging price/interest

Post by cantfindausername »

I am quickly coming to the conclusion that I don't have room in my life for a car like this.

As such I'm looking to see if there is reasonable interest out there to warrant selling/breaking the car.

Over the last 4 1/2 years the car has had in excess of £30k spent on it during the project.

Full details of the project can be seen on my site: http://www.car13.net and a spreadsheet of costs is available to anyone seriously considering this car.

It was recently dyno'd at 456bhp and 305ft/lb, at 1.25bar boost. The engine has been proven to be reliable and is ready for the next stage of tune. ~2bar.

A recent trip to Munster in Germany gave the car a good solid run over a long distance on a motorway were static temps and pressures were noted.

There is a GT35R turbo on the engine, and most other things are custom. The car now drives like a normal car (after changing the clutch) as a lot of time was spent in getting a nice drive off boost.

I can provide a full spec of the engine/car if required, but you should see from the pics on the site, the extent that this project has reached so far.

I have owned this car since 2nd Feb 2002. It has always been my pride and joy. I've always had high hopes for it and it saddens me to realise that I may only get half way there.

Please feel free to PM or email me any questions or requests.

Thanks,
Ant

There is a strong possibility if there is the right buyer out there.

Best of luck- I am very surprised - that is a phenomenal build, anyone who's lucky enough to get it is buying into a beast of a car :thumleft:

Yeah I'm surprised too. I would have loved to see how it performed at 2bar, but can't see me having the time or money to finish it off.

I appologies to any potential interests for the lack of price. I'm really wanting to see what would be offered for a car with this much of a complete spec.

The only things that need doing are a new boost controller and a remap and its good for masses of HP. Body could do with a tidy up and thats about it. You will struggle to find a more complete build I'm sure.

I'm shocked to see this mate, really hope you end up keeping hold of it and seeing it through, especially as you're so close. If I was a tuner I'd give you my time free to map it God damn it!!

This is the third very high spec, high powered tubby I've seen for sale today in this section

Out of pure fascination, the final 5th gear ratio, any idea's how far it'll go?

With the 17" wheels and its 8500 RPM limit, its geared to 206mph. Obviously aerodynamics and driver brownpantdynamics and a few other things would affect a real world figure.

How far have you taken it before bottling it.......assuming you bottled it at all. I know I would. Heck, I have, way before then, many times.

Most i've had on the GPS is 140, and that was changing out of 4th and letting off. However, I've got no working rev counter at the mo (simple ECU setting to change) so I don't know how close I was to redline. It hasn't really had its legs stretched properly. I'd loved to have had it at TOTB for a top speed run. Maybe next year if its still in my ownership.

No I haven't fallen out of love with it. I've just driven it to work and its reaffirmed just how much potential it has.

I'm getting figures together for what its going to cost to get it remapped and sorted out. Hopefully over the winter I'll be able to save up what I need and get it finished, unless the right offer was to come along. None so far though.

Think I need to get out at the weekend and enjoy some time with it. Just annoys me that the boost control is bu88ered so can't have flat out fun.
