Just curious, with that bodykit on are the wheels on spacers?

normally done with offsets rather than spacers

i am guessing but instead of +40 offsets i reckon they could be somewhere near 0 or even - offsets

If you check docs above the wheels TRD sold for the car were:

215/40 R17 +13

245/40 R17 +7

So any compatible variation on that would do.

The width of the vehicle is increased by 30mm each side (60mm overall)

Can someone tell me - on a TRD are the wider rear panels bonded on to the existing stock body or do they remove the old ones entirely when placing the wider ones?

They are out there, just difficult to find! I imported the work equips on mine from America second hand in pretty much the right offsets, just needed a 10mm on the rear, though without the spacers they wouldnt have cleared the brake callipers.

Quite a few japanese 3 piece wheels are available in these offsets from manufacturer, if you are willing to pay for new and willing to wait!

A full kit should be comprise of 14 pieces:

1 x Front Bumper (replace existing)
2 x Front wings (replace existing)
2 x Side Skirts (replace existing 1/4 vents)
2 x Rear Wings (bonded on)
1 x Rear Bumper (replaces existing)
1 x Petrol Cap (replace existing)
1 x Rear Bumper (relace existing)
1 x Boot Extension (bonded on)
2 x Rear Wing Supports (replace existing rev3+)
1 x Rear WIng Center (replace existing rev3+)

The top of 2 rear wing arches are cut out and re-welded by about 1"

Anyway, isn't Mick's one #1? Or should I not open that can of worms again? :)

I emailed my contact at TRD on this...

Dear Neil,

I'm well, thank you.

Yes, SW200-0001 S9803 is surely converted at our factory.
White 2000GT in brochure also has the plate of SW200-0001, but it was only
used for photo.

Neil - I'm not doubting that is what you've been told but I just cant see this being true TBH:-( [**edited by self to avoid causing offence**]

If what they say is true this would mean that TRD actually converted a car at the factory, fitted a TRD VIN plate including the cars own regular chasis no., photographed it etc for the brochure (including racing it down a drag strip)....then stripped the plate back off it. Why on earth would they do that? Surely that would devalue the car for no good reason whatsoever.

Theres no doubt this white car exists and that it has a TRD factory fitted kit and had/still has a TRD VIN plate showing serial No. 1 on it (even your "contact" says so). If it was removed afterwards it would leave a couple of holes in the bulkhead where the rivets where and since you can read the regular chasis no. wouldnt the eventual owner be a bit brassed off that the plate was removed?

If anyone can suggest a good reason why they would remove the plate let me know as I cant think of one...

Cheers for that Jeff =;

Correction needed sorry, you are not sure. My "Contact" works for TRD. End of, and fact. I am comfortable of this, through over a year of communication, and past documents they have sent, physical post i have sent them, email addresses all add up, and other areas of discussion we have had.

The plate that is assigned i believe is mis-understood as a new chasis number. I dont think the cars were ever re-registered to this. The re-registration comes down to the number plate. Areas of the japanese number plate signify engine size, and if the vehicle has had its dimensions modified. This would need doing. The TRD plate IMHO is purely vanity. For this reason they would not need to remove the plate.

Needless to say i have asked if they know what happened to that car.

I have all that waiting in my workshop to be fitted, had it since 2000. May get round to fitting it next year.

I had another go at scanninbg at a higher res then adjusted the contrast...

It looks the numbers are:

SW200-M001

?806 (cant read 1st digit but I assume its a 9 so number is in fact 9806.

You need to click on image to blow it up in order to read numbers

reply from TRD on the white one :

Dear Neil,

Thank you for your reply.

White MR2 2000GT in brochure had been used for company car, and then sold
to a MR2 fan.
It was for sale few years ago, but I don't know where it is now.

Best regards,
Chisato

I'm not sure but I think that may be because the car has the TRD front tower bar on?.....

If you look closely it appears to run across a indentation in the panel like all the others.
