Re: Tom Clanceys HAWX
Been playing the demo a lot, it's just my cup of tea

Will deffo be buying it
(and I don't buy many games
- I only have 4 since getting a PS3 over a year ago).

Re: Tom Clanceys HAWX
It certainly looks good from the ads I've seen.

Can you play it without using the voice commands?

your thinking of end war.

this is just a straight flight sim.

Re: Tom Clanceys HAWX
I'm sure I read in the review you do/can use voice commands for this too.
I know what endwar is and didnt get it because I wasnt interested in voice commands.

Re: Tom Clanceys HAWX
it didnt mention them in the demo but i did get amazingly stuck at the part where the view isnt behind the plane anymore.

Re: Tom Clanceys HAWX
I aint seen this yet, I'm going to try the demo.

Voice commands in games are a crazy idea, what the hell are you supposed to do when gf/wife falls asleep and you slip downstairs for a game of End War only to have to shout into the microphone
"Return FIRE!!!".

Its hard enough getting on the xbox as it is!

there are also voice commands(tells u this in the demo) but u dont need them

it wouldnt let me switch the view back to near the plane and ill be damned if i could fly it from about 100 metres away.

dont think id be very good with a remote control plane.

Re: Tom Clanceys HAWX
It s Very easy to get It wrong when your so far behind the plane has anyone tried the 2nd level with the Harrier yet?

Much Much more challenging

Re: Tom Clanceys HAWX
do you HAVE to use that view?

Re: Tom Clanceys HAWX
I found that once i went to assistance off that i could not get back to the assisted view.
hopefully its just a bug in the program

Re: Tom Clanceys HAWX
Can anyone get under the Bridge Ive managed to fly round Jesus under his arms without crashing.

I only got the demo, but in first level of demo, it allows you to switch to/from that view a couple of times so you know how to do it.

In the 2nd level of the demo you can switch to/from it anytime

Would've been nice to be able to hover the Harrier

Re: Tom Clanceys HAWX
indeed one of the best bits about a harrier the fact that it can suddenly become a stationary missile platform

Re: Tom Clanceys HAWX
Also a bit unrealistic that ANY plane
(well, the 4 I've flew in the demo) can do that cobra manoeuvre that only the likes of the SU-27, MiG-29
& F-22
(and a few new others) can do.

Despite that, I like the arcade-ness of it
Infinite missiles n all that

Re: Tom Clanceys HAWX
The demo didn't exactly grab me and say
"buy me" either but a couple of lads in work think it's amazing

A follow-up to Dropship on PS2 would be nice for my dogfight fix.
