t-bar with a leak

has anyone else have the problem of leaking on drivers window and if so how did you resolve it.

there are 3 articles worth checking out:

T-Bar eccentric rod guide installation.


All of these offer a solution to this problem, with differing costs. I guess it depends on how badly deteriorated the weatherstrips are.

IF IT'S FOR THE T-BAR I HAD SAME PROBLEM.......I WIPED MY RUBBER STRIPS DOWN AND SMEARED ON VASELINE.............NO WET SEATS SINCE THEN

um vaseline eats the rubber :shock: - you might want to wash that stuff off and put something else on them instead

I just bought some new rubbers. (ooh that sounds bad)

Got them from Ebay off a Rev5 - virtually brand new for about £30. Fixed my leaks completely.

Yes! mine leaked like a beatch!

Remedy = i cut the roof off ! :lol: =D>

I've used Vaseline for many years on a Mk1 without any problem, just requires regular application i.e. perhaps twice a year.
