[Mk2] [Generic] Rogue Fan Kit

Post by Cj82 »

Hey all

Where do people wire these to?

The engine bay fan? or to a Switch in the cabin?

What would be best for the engine?

Cheers

Me personaly, ran a seperate feed from the fuse box in the engine bay, then ran a switch into the cabin with inline fuses etc to keep the system safe,

Better for me as i dont want them on constantly

Very easy to wire up (bearing in mind im useless at electrics)

thats my 2 p

not sure how similar a na is to a tubby but:-

on my tubby i have it so that my engine/intercooler fan is fed from a switch up front so i can have it on all the time once warm more usefull in a turbo tho.

The twin fans are then fed from the orig engine fan socket, so come on/off as engine increases, decreases in temp.
however one of the fans will have to have its own ground as it monitor's current pulled thru the neutral/ground on the orig plug. doing it this way it fools it into thinking there is only one fan.

Cheers for the fans mate looking good with a few mods to hold the fans in place a bit better

Another thing to remember is you now dont have a rain tray, my engine has really taken the brunt of the rain etc, so i would suggest from the word go, cover your engine bay up of a night if your not keeping it in a garage lol :thumleft:

Switch is very simple to do, this way in the winter your engine isnt running too cool

engine cover fans

Really like the look off those engine cover heat sink fans, especially as they keep the rain tray. Has anyone got more details on where to get them and how much etc?

I got that one from a member on here who made it him self from just a tubby engine lid rain tray and 2 fans which i think he paid £40 per fan then fut the rain tray to fit them

The Rogue ones will cost you more and look awesome but also let water in from what i am told which is why i went to this option, but no longer the owner of these as i sold the car and the fans to another member on here

Defo worth wiring a switch if you can. My engine bay and I/C fans are controlled by the ECU and if they're all on, the car will stall as soon as it starts due to electrical drain they're putting on the system. Have to either catch it on the throttle or unplug them at the mo. Gonna put a master kill switch on the fans though me thinks, just for those occasions.
