Re: Poss daft ABS sensor question but......
Are you sure we should or would be talking in terms of resistance and not impedance with regards to the cable and the function in forms in this particular application? Not 100 percent, but as its a switched 12v dc signal to my knowledge, it would be resistance. But I could be totally wrong, and it'...

Re: Poss daft ABS sensor question but......
Willing to be proved wrong, but unlikely to be balanced pair, as their is no twist in the cable. Most likely just 12v positive and ground. Behind the sensor is essentially a reed switch and just creates a square wave signal by connecting and disconnecting the circuit when the teeth on the ring pass ...

Re: forged pistons recommendations
Yup, Gen4 is 9.0, but there are changes to the combustion chamber and block. I've heard that it is the strongest of the 3S blocks. The block cracking issues are to do with cooling issues, which can be sorted for little money during a rebuild. Thread hijacking to soapbox rant, but hey, sue me! When y...

Re: forged pistons recommendations
Bit late to to the party, but I have plenty to say about the arguments on here about CR. Both camps are wrong in their own way. Going for a lower CR isn't always the best approach, but neither is raising it. It's dependant on goals, and budget. A high CR build will need more work and money, but will...

For a controller, I'd wait to see what this looks like.

Re: [All] [Generic] Car PC people. Advice needed.
And start on ignition will all depend on how you wire it in. If you put in a circuit that is switched by ACC, then yes. You could also wire it direct to a positive feed, then you can switch it on and off independantly. You could wire a switch into this circuit, to make it easier if the switch on the...

Re: [All] [Generic] Car PC people. Advice needed.
Windows 8/10 would probably be OK, as Metro is pretty well set up for small screens and touch, That said, there are better options. All depends on how good you with computers. You could put Windows on it and run centrafuse for the front end. https://www.centrafuse.com/en/ Easy, pretty non technical,...

Hi Matt, Also in reading, so might be able to pop over if you need a hand. Not an expert but done a few bits and pieces before. Without stating the obvious, its either fueling or spark. If you've done the basics, and checked boost leaks, HT leads, Dizzy cap and arm, I'd check the base timing, in cas...

Re: Do aftermarket or universal cats for turbo models exist? Help!
As you've mentioned you are in Ireland I assume the pre 95 rule doesn't apply? Only ask as some MOT places and some folks aren't aware of this. Also are you failing emissions or do you need a type approved cat? If either is true you are screwed, as a sports cat is unlikely to change your emissions, ...

Re: quick shift is Rubbish
I'm going to stock rev3 soon enough, and will be using the bits from twosrus http://twosrus.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=117 Can be had with the rev3 lever, but I had to get the whole assembly as I have an eBay trd style shifter on mine. Bearings for the shifter assembly, probably make S...

Re: Insuring an MR2 with electronic boost controller
I'd personally recommend footman James, by far the cheapest, really good cover and everyone I've dealt with seems great. Can't comment on what might happen if you claim, as I haven't had to do that, touch wood! And I gave them my IMOC premium ref and got 10% off despite it not being advertised here.
