Only difference I noticed when going from my MK2 to the Mk3 was that I sit lower in the MK3.. That has to be a good sign, if you are able to drive a MK2 ok (I drive with he seat all the way back on the runners in both)
Practicality if not what the MK3 is about.

I presume the ebay copies are poorly designed and dont go straight on?
The example pics are of my car.. I purchased that Cusco one from RHDJapan and it just went straight on, no fuss. It used mounting points that are the same on all MK2 body shells.
Sounds like movement in the rear track control arm.
Could be the bushes or more likely the bolt that connects the track control arm to the subframe.(captive nut fails)
