Re: Power Steering Boss
My power steering cuts out on my G Limited when stationery for to long my understanding this is normal, since the mr2 use a eletronic pump for powersteering, That is my point...It is normal to cut out when car is stationery and normal to cut back in as soon as the steering wheel is moved. Mine does...

Power Steering Boss
Hi, My power steering cuts out on my G Limited when stationery for to long. I have established that this is because it has an after market Barchetta steering wheel fitted and the boss used does not mary to the power steering movemnt sensor on the column. This is basicaly the the lug that had pluged ...

[Mk2] [Generic] O/D Gearbox
Hi, I have a G Limited auto. When pushing the over drive button on the gear lever the O/D light on the dash comes on but that is about all. I have noticed only a couple times when in top gear that the over drive is working but only for a couple of seconds before it decides to change back down. (With...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] MK2 Power Steering
Hi, Thanks for that. I have what the photo is showing so hopefully will be able to marry. Coming forward from the black disc is a three pin connector which I now know to be the power for the air bag. I guess the person that origonally fitted the after market wheel did away with this as obviously it ...

[Mk2] [NA] Power Steering
Hi. I have 1991 G limited. Have a fault with the power steering ie it turns it's self off after 60 second when stationery. Have (with help from Toxo,) traced it to the lack of a power steering switch between the plastic disc and block of five wires at top of column. It has after market wheel and gue...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] MK2 Power Steering
Yeah that sounds about right  I believe they're the same part on all MK2s with PAS so just contact someone breaking a car and I'm sure they'll be happy to sort you out. Cheers Toxo. Great help. How/where would you suggest posting a requesting on IMOC to see if members are breaking or might ha...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] MK2 Power Steering
Some people just shoehorn aftermarket bosses on and don't quite see the significance of the black box. It's right at the top of the steering column on the underside, so if you remove the steering column cowl you'll see it. It has a ring on the stock boss which passes through it. The ring may or may...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] MK2 Power Steering
I reckon your steering wheel position sensor (3 pin black plastic box of tricks at the top of the steering column on the underside) is broken, disconnected, or you have an aftermarket steering wheel boss that it doesn't work with. It's supposed to switch off after not having been used for a while, ...

[Mk2] [NA] Power Steering
Hi. I have just bought a MK2 G Limited 1991. Strange fault really. After 60 seconds stationery the power steering fails. That is 60 seconds stationery regardless of whether you work the steering wheel or leave alone. either way it will fail at about 60 seconds. Once the car is moving up to 2 or 3 mp...
