Hi, my 1992 rev2 turbo failed its mot and the mechanic adjusted the mixture screw on the AFM to get it to pass on the retest, when i took it back after repairing another fault it passed reading 0.3, but now untill the engine is hot its like driving with no power and the engine wont rev

It sounds like the thermostat is stuck, and so it will boil the water in the engine without allowing to cool in the rad so causing the pressure build up.

Cheers mate, i presume this is on the downpipe, do you know if it a one or two wire for the rev 2, as i may just replace it any way (not expensive)

my 1992 rev2 turbo goes into safe mode when i hit 6500 to 7000 revs, no lights come on just seems to loose power, the only engine mod i have is an apexi induction kit.

do i need an fcd???

I have a 1992 GT turbo with an apexi induction kit fitted and nearly every time i accelerate (even before the boost kicks in) i hear a hollow clunk sound from the engine bay, it sounds like a plastic flap opening in a large box. the car does everything ok.

may be normal please help????

Hi all,
My fuel guage shows half full even thou' the ignition is switced off, and i am sure the tank is 3/4 full. it didnt seem to move today even after a 20 mile run

Hi just replaced my coolant (rev 2 Tubby). got the super from halfords, its on offer at the mo by 2 get 1 free. mixed it @60/40, coolant /water, as it says on the tub soI still have a full coolant left, cost £30

How i did it on a previous car was to put a dot of white paint on the top pulley and belt, and also on the bottom pulley and belt. took belt off then transfered the marks to the new belt so it would go on in the exact same position.

Hi, just had this problem with my tubby. try disconnecting the temperature sender unit wire and earthing it. this should make the temp guage go to the top. if it does it is the sender unit that is faulty (£17.70 from MrT)
