The MR2 MK1 Club will be having another club stand at this awesome event at one of the most prestigeous race circuits and home of the UK F1 - Silverstone.

This event covers 8 decades of racing over 3 days. 21 races and 15 qualifying sessions over the 3-days featuring over 600 cars many driven in their day by some of the worlds greatest drivers.
Race cars include:
  • FIA Historic Formula One
    FIA Lurani Trophy – Historic Formula Junior
    Group C Series
    Grand Prix Masters
    BRDC Historic Sportscars
    BRDC 500 for Pre-War Sports Cars
    HGPCA pre-1966 Grand Prix
    Masters Pre-66 Saloons
    The Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy
    Historic Aston Martins
    World Sportscar Masters
    Gentleman Drivers GT and Sports Endurance Masters
    Porsche
    HSCC Historic Road Sports
    On Track Demonstrations

What else is there?
Over 4000 classic road cars are expected, from 60 owners clubs, including Lotus, Ferarri, Lambourghini, De Tomaso, Maserati, Aston Martin, Jaguar etc.
There will be a huge display of pas F1 and Le Mans cars
There is also a huge trade mall with automemorabilia, autojumble, paintings, books, etc
Period funfair, Live Jazz at the Scarf & Goggles bar, period air displays, antique fair, food and drink stalls.

Tickets:
Th tickets to include you MK1 on the club stand can only be purchased using our club code (PM me for this) so we don't overbook our allocation.
The Club price before the 30th June is £25 per day. (£20 on friday)
Anyone is free to book thier own tickets via the Silverstone Classic website and come as a visitor for the day if you are not bringing a MK1.
On the day ticket price is £35 per day (£30 on friday)

We have spaces for 10 MK1's on the pitch each day, and Ken Salmon who is looking after the bookings has a few places left

(We have a pitch for 10 cars)
We had a great time last year, so hope some of you will join us this time round again.

Missed it last year, but went the year before - was very much :thumleft: !

I'm going to be going both days this year, and hope to have the Mk1 on the club stand... ;)

So possibly that's one extra stand place gone...

Hi all I am taking the northwest gazbo and flag, I am there fri sat sunday
as I am a old timer like the motors, :mrgreen: :mrgreen: so get yourself
there and see some great cars in the pits. bill.

Should be there by lunchtime Saturday, stopping til close of play Sunday.

I'm going on Sunday - but in a Mk2 so will be with hoi polloi in the parking lot :(

Well, my car won't be on the road in time... :( Completely gutted.
And Sasha's now camping this weekend (got her dates mucked up).

So, I'll still be coming, but as a normal person parking in the public car park. And I'll probably be giving the spare tickets to Dad or someone.

Was so looking forward to driving the Mk1 there... :(


Anyway, hope to see a few of you there this weekend! (I'll be going Sat & Sun as I'll now use Friday to continue work on the Mk1)
