xbox 360 red ring of death

has anybody had this error before red lights on front pannel and screen stuttering and freezing? if so has anyone discovered a decent fix as iv heard there are some dodgy ones in which the xbox can blow up, does microsoft offer free fix or warranty as its only about 10 months old?

TADTS unfortunately.

If its within a year you'd think you'd be covered by your original warranty from where you bought it.

Hi mate, I wouldn't bother any fixes. Just call Xbox direct. I got the RRoD when mine was 15months old (out of warranty) and when I called them they said they could fix it.

They paid for courier to collect and once repaired deliver back to me,
it cost me nothing to get it fixed.

And they gave me a 1month Xbox Live gold membership to refund any that I lost.

Fantastic service. My advice go straight to them.

some bits on forums that iv seen say that microsoft wont cover it on this as they cant explain why its happened to sumthing like 200000+ xboxes?

if its under 12 months old it will still be under warranty from the retailer you bought it from, as they legally have to give a years warranty with every electrical apppliance sold. however you will of course need proof of purchase.

its also useful to know that microsoft recently admitted there were issues with the originall xb360's and have since revised the console.


they are now offering a 3 year warranty through them selves for any internal hardware failure(i.e the red rings of death.)

lol yer he said its gonna be 2-3 weeks but having bits repaired by Mr Gates in the past its prob gonna be longer...

Im a big fan of Fifa so mainly Fifa08 mixed with a bit of call of duty mate, whats the online game of choice at the moment?

thats for extended warranty covering any sort of fault. microsoft dont charge for repair the red rings fault within 3 years of purchase anymore
