Post by autobody »

hi all,

I am planning to put my larger pulley on my mr2 supercharger very soon, so i was thinking is a chargecooler the best way to handle the extra heat.? :-k

if so what would i need, a detailed list would be really good for me please.

also who can fit these on that is near manchester area or north west?

also what sort of price should i pay for the chargecooler and someone instaling them,

many thanks in advance

Here's my setup

Note, the battery was rotated 90 degrees so I could fit the Legacy CC in. Excuse the 'air filter'

This is the Cinq rad that I had fit infront of the engine rad. I used some standard heater hosing and a 700l/hr pump. Seems to work OK but I havent really given it much stick. Yet.

thanks for the images. i notic you are from manchester, is there any chance i can come and have a look at the chargecooler fitted and maybe you can give me some advice for fitting it if you fitted it your self.

also are you running the larger pulley, if so i would like to know the differece from a supercharger with a standard pulley like mine to one with the larger pulley installed. so i would be happy if you could take me for a quick spin in your car..

hope you can help . cheers

Here's mine - also from a Subaru Legacy. On mine the battery has been relocated to the frunk, so there was plenty of room for the cc core

just a thought on the charge cooler rad but couldnt you fit one undearneath the car to cut down on piping and most importantly weight. im thinking of doing this on mine if and when a turbo gets fitted into it. then again the turbo exhaust system frees up alot of space underneath at the rear.

If you want to do this, you're welcome to use a bike rad I bought with the same intention. I've decided to go with a cinq rad, but I should think a bike rad would be sufficient to cool an SC CC :)

Hi mate. the 1.5 you sold me is almost ready and it will be sprayed up in a few weeks. not sure what colour. was thinking candy apple red. what you think... but handling needs sorting out becasue it is crap round bends. and lift off. so needs tow line and wheels sorting (i think thats what it is called :-k )

The SC is the king for me, its handles too good to be true. so the 1.5 will have to wait for a few weeks. 4 weeks and it should be all done and i will post pictures of the car and maybe you will buy it back off me 8)

maybe not - esp not my local quick fit etc...

most garages will do front wheel 'tracking', but you have to ask around to do full 4 wheel alignment inc camber etc.

A proper Geo setup on the car can't be done by the likes of quikfit. Their staff don't have the knowhow even if the equipment is there (like our local tyre place and they will openly admit it).

There are only a few places in the UK that will do a proper 4-wheel geo setup and only 3 I would recommend are Powerstation in Cheltenham, Tyres Northampton in (guess it...)... and Elite in Essex.
I have also heard of a highly recommended place in Nottingham, but can't think who they are right now.

Expect to pay no less than £90 for the honours though. Any less and it will be a straightforward alignment job.

I think I will give that a miss!!! :?

If you want to re-sell it I would avoid any weird and wonderful colours....
