Rev 3 GTS Turbo for sale ('95 late M-reg)

Post by woodygt4 »

It's finally time to sell the tubby - if you want to pick up a scorcher of an MR2, have a search on ebay for:

1995 TOYOTA MR2 GTS TURBO 16V WHITE.

It's a beast of an unmodified car with 246.7 bhp at the wheel hubs as dyno'd by Rogue/Thor. "One of the best MR2 engines I've ever seen" was the quote from Rogue!

Unfortunately, I'm getting less and less use out of it as I'm commuting in the landy every day (that gives over 40 mpg and shuttles my mountain bikes everywhere) and don't have many free weekends, so can't justify keeping it.

Bit sad really, it is my fourth MR2 (and second tubby - the last one was stolen by scumbags!), so genuinely sorry to see it go, but needs must, as they say.

Main highlights are:
Gorgeously strong engine
Serviced often
Excellent condition
Clifford Cat 1 Alarm/Immobiliser

Other details on the ad.

Cheers,
Woody

Cheers fella. I agree, white does look cool if you keep them clean!

Oh, extra details...

Cambelt - changed at 61,027 miles
Exhaust - New twin exit Mongoose fitted by Rogue early 2007
Tyres - 4x Toyo Proxes T1-R with tonnes of lovely even tread left

Of all the MR2s and tyre combinations I've driven, these are by far the best ratios (225f/245r on 45/16) for handling in terms of feedback and grip I've ever had ...in my opinion, of course (given the highly subjective matter this topic is)!

Hi mate.

Cumbria. Going over the Hardknott Pass. There's some cracking bends and views up there.

MR2's a great beastie (and very practical) for camping - 'tis a good excuse to go find some gnarly roads.

The ebay auction ends tomorrow. Thanks to all those who've come to look at it so far, and enjoyed the test drives as well as the tonne of interest shown given the number of people 'watching' it.

Further details I hadn't clarified on the ad, but reminded me going through paperwork and showing the car at the weekend:

Dyno Plot Power/Torque
- dyno plot shows 246.7 bhp (at 5913rpm) at the wheel hubs
-- equates to power at the flywheel of between 271.3 bhp and 283.7 bhp (assuming 10-15% energy losses from flywheel through to the wheels due to friction, etc
- dyno plot shows 239.9 ft/lb of torque at 4823 rpm

Alarm/Immobiliser
- The alarm is a Clifford G5 Intelliguard 950 Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser
-- Turbo timer module
-- extended range aerial
-- remote central locking

Turbo Timer
- Apexi Turbo Timer
-- you can use this, the Clifford alarm or your common sense to control when the engine turns off (ie to properly cool the engine after using high or sustained turbo boost)!

Obviously the Clifford turbo timer is an integral part of the alarm, and thus you can lock down the car completely while the engine cools, with the immobiliser arming automatically when the timer finishes. That's assuming you don't want to sit there lovingly stroking the steering wheel and not wanting to get out while the turbo cools!!!

The Clifford's settings are pretty customisable if you download the software to your laptop and you can add other modules on (automatic window closing, remote start, etc, etc).

This really is a good car, and I would love it to go to a club member.

Enjoy bidding!

Cheers,
Woody
