when i bought mine had a long hard think as my 2 replaced my bike to keep mrs happy, and i had to have something a bit special as you do and always wanted a 2, so i bought myself one but these cars only apeal to certain people ie weekend car, young couples no kids, mr2 lovers, so your market for buyers is quite small compared to a four door car which is more practical, when i bought mine i was on the understanding that when i sell mine im going to have a job on my hands you might have more joy in the summer only really if yours is a t bar model though in saying that people do seem to buy sports cars in the summer :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

Prices have dropped a lot already, couldn't believe I picked up my rev 3 turbo last summer for just £2650. It only needed a new thermostat and rocker cover.

Thank goodness for these forums which keeps the MR2 interest going.

I think MR2 prices fell dramatically 2 years ago but they stabilised there. FTO's suffered a similar drop but even more so. That market is flooded, everyones going diesel, petrols gone way up, Ebay's ruined them.

Saying that, Ebay's ruined everything that used to be good.

Strangly though, try buying a cheap Integra...For some reason they really hold their value.

i distinctly remember many moons ago, while pi$$ed up and eating a kebab, standing at the bike showroom window late one night (was across from pub) and oogling one of those zxr750's on many occasions

as a young boy i always fancied the kawasaki zxr750 the original superbike that kicked off the quick bikes together with the susuki of course, so at 34 years old this was found quite cheap and in need of a lot of tlc managed to get some panels and made a few brackets that were missing and had it sprayed wheels and bodywork, new tyres, good service, new brakes, was very sad when i sold her so many people would look at you on it, people with new bikes a classic oh well had my chat on bikes back to the 2's :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

I think the Teg's have a bit of a following. They are a sought after car. There is a lot of unusual attention to detail on the Teg (thinner windscreen, hand ported engine etc). Also they are renowned for their handling and of course the original VTEC engine.

I know this because I paid 5.5K for a JDM 96 car. Was top end of the money but was a known history.

They are getting cheaper but are a generally highly regarded car in the petrolhead world.

Also agree prices nose dived 2-3 years ago.

The good examples will always command a premium, but they have to be a bit special, and you have to wait for the right buyer. If you're in a rush to sell then you won't get the extra.

hmm i might not be so hasty to sell in that case. i too sold my bike and bought this mr2 as my missus wasn't happy with me riding it, now she's ahem "up duff" and im having to sell the car aswell..

I've been looking a golf diesels, but ironically i seem to be selling in a slow market and trying to buy in a very healthy one. :pale:

Integras incidently, i'm not keen on the looks but i'd love to own one - room for a baby seat too.....

Prices have bottomed out now......

Don't see how a healthy rev 1 turbo can fetch less than £1800 now and rev 3+ for £2500

Its Supras on the turn now!! Prices for twin turbo models have dropped by about 3-4k!!

afraid thats true thay do call us organ donors, had a fatal near me a few days ago guy got killed on susuki gsxr 1000 lost it into a wall, think he was only young aswell not that it makes a difference, last accident i had i should have been dead i t boned a toyota yaris who just turned right in front of me no indicators smashed her drivers window with my head, done what felt like three complete somersaults and landed on my back taking all my wind out of me, funny really you start wiggling your toes and then work your way up, i thought blimey im alive then i tried getting up only to have a women come and sit on my chest telling me to stay down, managed to coax her off me and sat up then i took off my helmet to her screaming at me but i was fine looked around and there was people everywhere 100's, then i looked around to see my gsxr600 all over the floor i could have cried, then the standard thing you get paramedics, police, rapid response, and fire brigade to scene as its a biker the yaris was like a banana i took off my jacket as it was very hot and i heard paramedic say wheres the biker i shouted thats me he looked at me and then looked at the car and bike and said xxxx me you are very very lucky your not dead wasnt my time to go i think, all i done was hurt my little finger got more hurt when her indoors came into hospital and whacked me. i also went uder the back of an escort who stopped on a green light women thought she killed me and was hysterical again no injurys thats why i got rid of mine didnt want to make it 3rd time unlucky :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

They're not as big inside as you might think :-s

I struggled putting our baby seat in my old DC2 Teg and that was with the passenger seat nearly all the way forward :(

Very involving cars though :thumleft:

to be fair to my wife, i saw the aftermath of a bike vs car accident and as already highlighted, its a very VERY sobering experience. The biker involved did not make it through and i sold my bike within the month. I'd never tell anyone not to do it, but the stats speak for themselves im afraid..

I guess what I mean is that it is the car that epitomised the VTEC engine. I realise there was the 1.6 in the CRX that preceeded it.

The B18C is the old school of jekyl and hyde power delivery synomynous with the VTEC concept. The later K20A as found in the Civic has much less of that and I think loses out in character as a result.

Would agree that the rear of the teg isn't particularly roomy, but i guess what i love about it is that the focus is on the drive above all else. It mmc that for the boot floor spare wheel cover all there is a badly fitting piece of corrugated plastic and the carpet isn't even attached, so you can see where they cut the corners, but i like it all the more for that. :+:

You tell a good story

Suppose, It Is relative really the age,the condition some of them are In,the over supply en demand and other Influencing factors like other cars available and so on they all find their right level In the market. What ever I do or have done mod's wise to her I know Is purely for my own pleasure and do not expect any of It back.

Less market value at the time and or another person like myself of the same Idea who might consider paying a bit extra for just what they wanted. Must say I do like the Honda that Lauren, has and white too! What a car and hold their value for a good reason too. A great car! :thumleft:
