I found out just over a week ago that i cracked my block!!!!! After a long hard think about all the routes i might take i am now breaking the beast!!!

I picked up my new mr2 last night.........a lovely rev3 which i am very happy with!!!!

I will be posting up on the parts for sale bit later tonight with the first few few parts i have taken off. As you will see from my garage there are some really really nice bits!!!!!! some i will be keeping but 95% of them will be up for sale.

thats awful bad luck mate but at least youve decided to move on and stop throwing your hard earned dosh at the old motor.......

It was great while it lasted 450bhp feels awesome.........shame it only lasted 200 miles LOL!!!!!

I am gutted as i will never get the money back on the charge cooler as its a 1 off and cost stupid money!!!!!!

I can remember uve had a few problems but you sure its not worth giving it one more chance with another block?

geeman how u know u cracked block as its what i might be facing with just standard power.

and struggling to understand how especially as ran sweet didnt leak and head gasket good just overheated on boost

I dont have the time with my job and the car has been off the road for 4 months anyway, so i bought another 2............its so nice to drive one again!!! Its running over 300 so its still not slow

I thought about getting another block or even sleaving the block but its just more money and time spent on this car. So its time to move on. there are some really nice shiny bits available so people looking for some trick bits should get ready!!!!!!

I know its a cracked block as there is a nice crack in the bore over the water way!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I will take a pic when i get chance but its 100% a big dirty crack!!!!!!

I dont want a car that breaks every other time i go out in it so most of the stuff is up for grabs. The carbon bits i am keeping at the moment but i will let you know.

The car is so sweet mate, it runs really well, the front bumper is so low just got back from a drive and i had to turn round at 1 point as i could not get over the speed bump LOL!!!!!

It handles so well, cannot wait to do a track day next month!!!!!

As you mentioned above, I think its about the ideal level of mods / power for being near the edge of daily driver reliability and usability. Great performance but not pushing it too far. Mine's very similar and works great for me.

Have you put yours on a rollin road mate??

I have got a power fc and i cannot choose to keep it and put it on at a later date or just sell it and not push the engine further................................like you say i want to keep it reliable

Yeh made 264 @ hubs @ 0.9 bar, quite pleased with that. Running usual bolt ons and a hybrid ct26.

Well just improving the over rich map could net you 20-30 horses but the stock one is very safe so its a hard call. I chose to keep the stock ECU, but I can't afford another engine failure, each to their own.

If you are considering selling the parts then can you let me know what you want for the chargecooler setup.

I was going to go for a very similar setup supplied by Baktasht off the us MR2oc board.

I think the big pistons and high bhp did it, but thats just a guess.

The charge cooler is a tricky one as it cost me £950 just for parts and the rad, this is without the cost of the core and the huge pump so it might not be worth me selling it...................if you know what i mean??? I love it as well as its all custom done

The mounting bit was fun, i didnt get the bracketets welded as i did not want to mess up the charge cooler also if they cracked it woud be a nightmare so i went a different route.

The pump came with the charge cooler and is awesome, even when i was getting the car mapped the charge cooler was stone cold
