[Mk2] [NA] MR2 Virgin Help

Post by placebo786 »

Hi guys have always loved the mr2 from the original mk1.
However due to prctical needs, family etc etc never owned one.
That is until November 22nd this year when I said sod it and bought a 94 T-Bar in Goodwood Green (will add profile and details once I add my personal touch to the car e.g. cobra side pipes).
I was hoping if you could clear smething up for me I have been told that I need to use a special engine coolant, however a mechanic friend mine says its just a money making con by dealers any antifreeze would do and he ran an Mr2 a few years ago and he just put normal antifreeze in.
Please can someone explain.

P.S Being used to 4wd I lost the back end a couple of times on these wet roads absoloutely fantastic no regrets would love to get it on track soon.
