[Mk2] [Turbo] Rev3 valve clearances... What are they?!

i look on the BGB and it said ...

in - 0.15 - 0.25 mm (0.006 - 0.010")
ex - 0.20 - 0.30 mm (0.008 - 0.012")

But that is for a 1991 engine..

i found a specs page for the ST205 engine, and the intake clearance is the same , but the ex was 0.28 - 0.38mm ???

anyone know which is correct?

Inlet valve clearance 0.15 - 0.25mm Shim under bucket
Exhaust valve clearance 0.28 - 0.38mm Shim under bucket

Yeah, i set mine to the above. I found after having the valves resurfaced the gaps were all a bit on the small side. A flat bit of tempered glass,some ultra fine wet and a micrometer saved me buying any new shims.

well mine come out (after lapping)

IN:

0.16--0.16-----0.16--0.17----0.16--0.19----0.16--0.16 (limits 0.15-0.25)

EX:

0.31--0.34----0.35--0.37----0.34--0.31----0.35--0.35 (limits 0.28-0.38.)

pretty good ryan .
i opted to keep all the tolerances to the tighter side of the specs ,will give you probably unnoticeable performance gains ,as in taking a .37 gap down to .28 as per the tighter side of the spec will give another almost 0.1mm of valve opening .
plus looser specs mean noiser tappets especially on higer lift cams where you hear it more .
i very luckily got all of mine within 0.02 of the lower end of the spec ,i swapped most shims around and only had to buy 4 new ones
