[Mk2] [NA] any electrical experts on?

Hi guys ever since i got my car the passenger door courtesy lights never worked (driver one does) neither has the dome interior lights so i swapped all the bulbs but still no luck! checked all the fuses and there all good so the task of tracing all the wires begins...but it didnt take long after taking off the kick panel down in the passenger side footwell ive found 2 wires which have been sniped!!..not by me previous owner maybe but why?? anyhoo.. the wires 1 green 1 green/white striped..im pretty sure this is causing my problem but i cant see where the wires have been sniped from? anyone recognise the wires and know where they go? any help would be much appreciated a beer to the man..or lady that can get my nice new blue leds to work

Hmmmm, don't know what those connectors are for, but you could start by checking to see is power getting to the little switch that the door closes against. Just near the door latch.

agree, get a volt meter and just test from the units to see if they have power. its just a case of figuring out where the supply stops and then fixing...it shouldnt be hard and electrics are fun ...let us know how you get on

i will do, thanks for the replies electrics are only fun when no-ones been in there tampering with them the previous owner has a lot to answer for there where no indicatores, sidlights or foglights on the car when i got it! ive had to do alot of work on her just to get her passed the m.o.t including swapping over the rear sub frame! joys of an 18 year old car i guess! think ill wait for a slightly warmer night before i go out and tinker with her again..oh mrtee nice car dude
