1991 MR2 GT-Tbar - Lots of Rev 3 Parts

Well the time has come to sell my fantastic head turning Toyota MR2. I have had this car for over two years and have loved every minute of it. But needs must and I now have to buy a sensible car with 4 seats and a bigger boot.

This car has been on display at numerous car shows in the last 18 months and always been well received and always gets good comments.

In the last two years I have carried out the normal maintenance and changed a few extra bits just to be on the safe side! The clutch and gearbox was replaced last year. The gearbox in early mk2 MR2’s suffer from a problem on high mileage gear boxes when trying to change into second gear. I had a low mileage box put in (less than 20k on the clock of the donor car)

Alternator and radiator were also replaced last year.

When changing external parts I have tried to update the car to make it looking as much as possible to look like a later MR2. Im sure from the pictures you can see the car doesn’t look 16 years old.

The specification is as follows:
Power

Engine: 3S-GE 1998cc
Power: 160.3bhp (Dyno @ flywheel)
Torque: 135lb/ft (Dyno @ flywheel) (Print out to prove)

Engine

Free Flow air filter with stainless steel ram pipe
Turbo Strut brace in Ford Signal yellow
Mongoose Back box and De-Cat

Interior

Replica Mini Cooper S Works Seats in black
Red Sparco Steering wheel
Red Sparco Gear knob

Exterior

Bomex side skirts
Phoenix rear bumper splats
Rev3 front splitter
Rev3 rear lights and centre panel
Crystal front lights
Crystal side repeaters
17’ BK604 wheels
Tyres – Hankook Sport 215/40/17
Astral Black Toyota badges
Smoothed front bumper with relocated number plate.

Brakes
MR2 Rev 3 Callipers painted silver (These are bigger than the original Rev 1 brakes the car comes with. These were changed for better stopping power)
Drilled and Grooved disks
Up rated Pads

Suspension

PI 40mm lowering springs on the front.
Unknown springs on the rear.

Please note there is no stereo. I am taking the CD player out for my new car. I bought the car without one and love this one so want to keep it! It’s not hard to fit another one J

Security

Falcon Predator EVO4+ Pager Alarm.

This top end alarm not only has all the features it also has a 2 way LCD Pager remote control. This high tech addition is the best way to keep a tag on your car when in the pub, watching TV or round at a friend’s house. When the alarm is triggered the pager remote control will sound an alert and indicate on the LCD display which zone was triggered! It will also show you whether the alarm is armed or disarmed. All in all a fantastic bit of kit.

One x 2 Way LCD Pager Remote Control
Anti-Scan Code Learning System
Remote Locking
Immobiliser
Passive Arming & Passive Locking
Audible Arm/Disarm Chirps
Silent Arm/Disarm Option
Flashing hazard lights on alarm activation
Anti-Hijack
Automatic Re-Arm
Ignition Lock/Unlock
Arm condition memory
Intrusion indication
Emergency Override
Valet Mode
Very Loud Siren

The bad bits!

Not really bad parts but I want to make sure any tiny little things are listed and this advert is 100% honest. My feedback on eBay is 100% and I want to keep it that way.

The flexible section in the exhaust is starting to blow so will need replacing. Any good exhaust place can do this easily.

Oil level warning light comes on when the car is up to temperature. This has been checked and the sensor needs replacing. The oil has to be out of the engine when this is done (so a normal service is a good time) It was meant to be done at the last service but Toyota didn’t get the part in in time (two weeks of waiting) It is fine to drive the car like this.

There is a noise from the passenger’s side rear suspension every so often. It has been looked at by the garage that services it and they can’t see anything wrong. I have even had a look my self. It sounds like the spring is just settling down.

The car is 16 years old so there are a few stone chips and dents here and there. There is one on the bonnet which no one notices but I know its there. One dent on the drivers’ door I think a trolley has done it.

Extras

Also included is the private number plate H11 WPC which has been valued at over £600 by 3 companies who are all willing to sell it.

Viewing

If you would like to view the car before the end of the auction please let me know ASAP and we can arrange something.

Remember you are bidding to buy not to view or haggle over the price.

Car comes with 12 months MOT and 1 month tax.

Finally
This is a nice car which turns heads. On a nice sunny day when driving it I always get people asking what it is or stopping to have a look. I am really sad to see it go but needs must!

If you would like any specific pictures of anything please ask and I will do my best to get them for you.

I am available to answer more of the day and evening. Any questions please ask.
