delimiter???

Post by mr2bing »

how do i know if my newly aquired r2 turbo has been delimited, without blasting up and down my local motorway (without getting caught)?
on fetching the car, i was following my wife and we both decided to set what it was like?
whooosh straight up to the end of the speedo?
so i dont know what i was doing
can the speedo be changed? if i just change the face it would read wrong wouldnt it? i know it clocks up in Ks not miles ](*,)
what is the best thing to do?

Post by Harry »

hi
yes wise not to test on roads,club/s do test run days at track, all safely!
Lockwood dials are good and presume you now read in km/h up to 180km,Now order Lockwoods white dials kit up to 180mphour
as this direct conversion works with behind clocks chip derestrictor or is it derestricter :?: get that from gtschris :?:ask James :@: 3 s service to fit,
now drive safely
thank you

Personally, I wouldn't bother delimiting the car. On my old rev2 the limiter actually cut in at 118mph (tested in Germany!) and in fitting a delimiter you have to do it carefully so you don't mess up the amount of assistance the PAS gives you.

MrT designed the PAS to provide most assistance at low speeds, and then none at above 40ish MPH (ISTR) - if you fit a speed delimiter, or converter which divides teh signal by 1.6 the PAS will continue to prove assistance upto 60mph, which makes things too light IMHO ..

Speak to Stef Derner from this site. He is pioneering a new de-limiter that will not effect your PAS.

I am going to see him when my import arrives.
