True, but still, give the lad a chance to show us his car, sounds like something very special!

doubt it being a mines tuned car as they go for big bhp skylines, not tuning non turbo mr2's for an extra 20 bhp, hardly seems worth it

its not AWD it retains MR2 RWD system but the engine is tuned and all suspension components are Celica GT4 as opposed to stock MR2 (in reflection running gear was a poor choice of phrase sorry guys!). I was pretty sceptical about it all myself but having taken it to toyota a couple of weeks after getting it they said the engine mounts are different and the head and cam were different to stock Mk2 NAs .The toyota mechanic mentioned he had heard of the mine's tuned variant as a toyota experimental project prior to developing the turbo. not entirely sure how to post pics on here!

I don't buy into the whole "Mines tuned" thing but I'd still like to see some photos of the car and engine :)

Assuming the stickers are not fake, and the power output is confirmed, i believe i've learnt something today, never even thought mines touched the mr2

I don't think you have learnt anything, it looks like a standard MR2 with wheels, rev3 lights and a couple of stickers to me. It may well have some Mines bits on it (have you checked the ECU?) but I very much doubt that it's a Mines car.

;)

I wouldn't trust the word of a Toyota spanner monkey or the sales patter of an importer either, it may well have some different bits on it but the whole 1 of 35 thing seems somewhat "magical" in order to sell the car.

Do you have any dyno sheets to back up the claimed output?

(Not trying to be an ar$e here btw, I just like to be honest with my thoughts, I'm happy to be shown I'm wrong.)

I agree. Sounds like someone told the current owner some porky pies.

This isn't possible.

The turbo and normally aspirated versions of the car were released simultaneously. Toyota would normally develop special editions in conjunction with TRD, and motorsport projects with TRD, SARD and TOMS.
