Lemans photos

Post by Spittinflames »

Well got back from Lemans last night, car covered a total of just over 1400 miles in 6 days and never missed a beat ( well apart from a hose clamp snapping off )

Yes i did also struggle getting on and off the ferry, some one has some video footage of me trying to get on and some guys bringing some wood over for me.... lol

Big thanks to michael for organising the trip :thumleft: and i'd just like to say a big thanks to Paul (Pnjmcc), without his help through the week i think we would of been sleeping under the trees, eating bugs and digging for water... he was a true star, so " Thanks Paul " :thumleft:

Anyways here some pics, Got some awesome video footage of the race including a few spins....... those cars sound mental in the flesh, especially the vettes, and the audi TDI's  how quite are they!! and how much quicker than everything else :thumleft:

Oh yeah the pics... ( battery on camera ran out on day 1 lol)

heres the very few pics i got due too spending the rest of the week trying too sort out my cracked oil feed pipe on day 2 of the holiday.

totally spoilt my holiday and too rub it in on the way home a lorry through up a big stone which chipped my windscreen which has now developed into a full blown crack from the top too the bottom of the screen.

next my exhaust cracked and split in england and is blowing like a mother.

anyway here the pics.

Wow, great pics! Just out of interest how much did it cost in fuel to get there and back?

Well i did a tad over 1400 miles that week, most of that was travelling from where i live (the midlands) to dover then from bolnoge to the campsite in france, and back again.

We did some running about while in france, but not a great deal, maybe a few hundred miles or so. I get around 250 on a tank full at say 45 quid.

Not added it up till now but it looks like around 270-300 pounds just on fuel  Ever likley i'm skint.

The car did me proud but i shant be taking her on holiday again, that fuel money could of gone towards something else.

one of the advantages to running a relatively stock low powered mk3 was that i did nearly 1000 miles on about 3 full tanks i think... I left with a full tank, did 2 fillups from about 1/4 tank and then a quick splash and dash of about 1/3 tank on the way home, so probably about £100 or so...

Lets hope so!! although only having the one section this year did kinda focus the activities and madness in one spot!!

That water pistol fight was hilarious! Shane brought it on himself though, as Reema proved she was a crack shot
