Hi Jamie,

I suspect 5 hours but I may be less if someone knows that they are doing. Biggest problem is if bolts round / sheer off.

The hardest part is just getting to the associated bolts.

If you have the tools and a set of ramps to get the butt of the car in the air then you could probably do it yourself.

If you can get to the turbo then knock off the 4 bolts holding the turbo to the manifold and also undo the bolts holding the down pipe to the exhaust system Then break it apart on the ground, re fit your down pipe then fit the turbo the manifold.

Soak everything with WD40 and my trick for doing loose bolts is ring spanners and a rubber mallet. The mallet will help shock even the most stubborn bolts loose.

Cheers

Thanks for the advice James.

Can ramps be purchased? I have a lot of tools and axle stands, but if I was going to be doing anything major underneath the car Id much rather put it up on a small ramp rather than axle stands!

IIRC Halfords sell ramps for about 200, which would give you enough space to crawl under the car when needed. Definatley worth investing in a set, axel stands are good but ramps are safer.
