Hiya,

I am finally selling my dear old Mk1.

Before I tell you about the car, i have to declare something first:

I had an accident a month ago, and the front end became a bit messy.

As I avoided the insurance company for a potentially high premium, I paid for the other guy's damage myself, and was then left with the task of reparing mine.

I have repaired it myself.

I bought another red wing, rubbed down and sprayed the front bumper.

The bonnet would ideally need replacing or it can be filled.

I also bought another headlight pod.

The headlight cover is proud of the wing and bonnet, as i cant actually undo the bolts holding it on

I have pictures of the crash damage for whoever is interested.

The Car:

1985 MK1 MR2

Mk1a Gearbox, but with mk1b engine covering now 94k.

Engine was replaced due to dropping a big end on the A127.

Engine came from a car with a slight rear end accident in a scrapyard.

Was installed last January by my mate who is a qualified Volvo Technician, who has also changed his lump in his MK1.

The engine has covered 22k from then until now.

It has never let me down.

It doesnt use oil or water, and the MPG is getting surprisingly better

- 40mpg.

The speedo shows 142k

It has the standard gearbox, but with the slightly larger diameter 212mm clutch.

It has no 5th gear pop-out.

Since buying the car back in April 2005, as well as the engine and clutch change, i have loads of receipts including new front dampers and top mounts.

I replaced the front discs and bought Green Stuff racing pads for them.

Unfortunately the TAX runs out at the end of May, but it has an MOT until November.

I would be willing to put 6months tax on it again given a suitable offer for the car.

There is rust on the rear arch on the passenger side.

Drivers side is immaculate apart from a scratch.

Interior is really immaculate also!

The car currently has a Mongoose Full Stainless system installed, but as i am picking up my 1990 mk1 on friday, the exhausts will be swapped over.

So the standard exhaust will be on the car for sale.

As stated, i have many pictures of the car.

If you are interested PM me and i will reply asap.

As soon as the exhausts are swapped over, the car will be ready for the potential buyer.

I have been told that a DIY job will put off many buyers, but doing it myself was extremely cheaper than getting a pro to do it.

I have not told any porkies and there was no structural damage to the chassis.

I am looking for

£500 or nearest offer.

The car will be going on eBay if i have no interest.

Kind Regards,

Alex
