Post by gozza91 »

Just wanted to say a big thank you to James and the team down @ the 3s service centre. They just changed my cambelt, aux belts and oil at a fantasticly low price and my car is now running as smooth as when i bought it over 2 years ago! I am so pleased :D Can't recommend them enough!!

Anything you need doing, just ask James:

As a matter of interest, how much they charge you?

Need mine doing to, and was going to tackle it myself, but if there price is right, might opt to keep my hands clean.

Please don't tell me you've not had the oil changed for 2 years? 8-[

Ha ha, Yes I've had the oil changed, just not with mobile 1. Plus it was all the little ticking noises and squeaking from the belts that were driving me insane!

What boost controller are you running? Its probably something to do with the settings in that.

Blitz dual selonoid thingy , with 4 channels and gain and ratio.

Currently have it set to 60 ratio and 20 gain and its doing my head in

I want to drive 1.1 during the day and then ofcause i'll probably have to turn the blitz down at night cause incase it overboosts(cold temps)

To tell you the truth i've yet to test it , it's as old as the turbo which is a ct20b bought second hand from someone here. Im hopeing to get my hands on a new actuator soon , just hope they dont cost the earth.

Would the actuator cause this then , not holding boost above 1bar ?

Thankyou , very helpful :thumleft:

Last questions from me , what type do you recommend and where should i get one from?

Was thinking of a 15psi or should i get a lower one . Maximum holding boost pressure i want to run is 1.2 at a later date. But for safety reason's id prefer to hold at 1.1

Thanks

Oh i forgot , can you change an actuator with the turbo and downpipe attached to the car?

I don't have to take all the downpipe and turbo off do i :pale:

lol the answer to your first question begins with m and ends with h

It is possible to change the acuator with the cat in place, its just tight and tricky, infact so silly it can be quicker to remove the cat, as its the re-securing of the push rod thats the most important part.

Ouch that means the manifold will have to be moved out too.. The oil filter holder gets in the way of the downpipe, to get the downpipe off i have to move the manifold out slightly so the oil filter holder doesn't get in the way .

Im worried now :pale:
