I had an annoying problem like this on my alternator.

.

.

In the engine bay where the fuse box, there should be a thick white lead that is bolted.

.

with the engine ignition off removed this cable and using a multimeter on the 10A current range attached one cable to the cable you have remove making sure it doesnt touch any metalwork.

.

.

attach the other cable of the multimeter to the bolt that you have removed the cable from.

.

.

.

.you will now be able to measure any current that is been drawn which should be minimal if all doors are closed and no accesories are switched on.

.

.

.mine was drawing in excess of 1amp indicating a faulty regulator pack or staor windings in the alternator.

.

.

.

.something to check even if the alernator has been reconditioned.
