[Mk2] [Turbo] Timing belt question

Post by MR2_Babe »

What other parts are needed other than the timing belt for a timing belt change? And is there anything else worth changing when I'm at it? Thanks.

Cambelt tensioner

Idler pulley

Air con, P.S, alternator belt

And make sure who ever does the job has done one before, or it could turn into a nightmere job!

Also, when the belt is off, check the water pump gear for noise and free play, but if money isn't an issue, replace anyway, as if it goes and leaks in the future, youre gonna have to do the lot again. water pump is about 90 ish quid.
