The blue mk2 at 1 minute 10 secs is Paul Ports...

The black mk2 at 3 minutes 23 is Ben Bibbings...

As for the rest I'm not too sure :-k

Looks like it was quite wet there when that footage was taken. Personally, I'd not have bothered driving then, or have waited until there was a dry line on the circuit. Laps in the wet have unpredictable grip changes - the dry lines is worn smooth (little wet grip) plus new tarmac on the circuit make it very tricky.

The clips were taken at Brunnchen, which has a couple of fast technical right hand corners, with a fair amount of height change which the footage doesn't show very well. I'm sure 99% of people got around that corner without a problem.

Most of that footage is of the second corner - it is a very late turn in normally in the dry, which catches people out. If you turn in too early you run out of tarmac on the exit and and come off into the gravel on the outside of the bend - I've even got footage I've taken of people doing that.

The black MR2 at 1:20 obviously lifts mid corner as you can hear the dump valve - he probably realised he was running out of road (he's in that corner very early) and he certainly was very lucky to stay on the tarmac - and not get hit by anything following.

The Nurburgring is a great place to drive at 8/10ths, but not at 10/10ths - save that for IMOC trackdays!

It could be the recent trip to the ring by T.O.C but can't say for sure as I can't view the clips... Windows media player says it can't download the codecs... :?

What are you guys using to view the clips?
Real obviously won't play it and also my version of quicktime won't play it... :(

The clip was encoded using a Divx codec - http://www.divx.com/

You can download a free player from there - that should also install the codecs Windows Media Player needs so you'll be able to view the clip using either programme.

BTW, Media player classic, preferably including realalternative and quicktime alternative, plays a hell of a lot more than windows media player and still runs sweet when my laptop is in powersave mode.

I want to know who owned the mk1...

Mate.. when we went out.. the 1st half of the track was bone dry.. it started raining on the other side of the circuit.. hence why you see so many cars on track... :cyclops:

Mines the one with the low rise ..

It was a TOC ring trip. There were about 7 MR2's for the weekend.
(as well as 2 supras, an MR2 engined Avensis, a CRX, an RX7, Envy's Yaris)

and it was VERY wet out the back of the curcit .. I had to ease off 100% as I was sliding for most of it and seeing a bimmer facing you when half way round doesn't help ..
