) 1986 MR2 Mk1a in RedI bought the car off Jinxy
& Crazylegs ( in their guise as T&K Spares ) last September as a daily driver while I worked on my other two Mk1s. The car had previously been dry stored for several years after suffering a headgasket failure which the then owner didnt bother fixing, he just left the car in his garage. Jinxy and Kev then acquired the car and dropped in a replacement Mk1b redtop engine.The car has now done just over 110K miles
( engine approx 80K ), has MOT until August 25th, tax to end of August and since buying it Ive done the following to it:Replaced the missing front lip spoiler
Replaced a snapped radio aerial
Fitted an OEM stereo from a Mk1b
Replaced the clock
( original had gone very dim )Had 4 wheel laser alignment done
Replaced air filter with a K&N one in the original airbox
Replaced missing trim from top of passenger door card
Fixed passenger window switch
Fixed central locking from drivers side switch
( replaced faulty control box )Replaced thermostat
& flushed coolantReplaced rad cap
( seals on original looked a bit manky )Bodywork is in excellent condition, with only very minor bubbling below passenger rear quarter window to show for its 20 years
( see pic below ) rear arches are fine. Interior is in excellent condition too, and even has the interior sunroof cover. Along with the car Ill also throw in a full set of brand new brake disks I bought for it, as my other Mk1s are both 1bs so they wont fit.The only problem Ive had with it was due to a faulty immobiliser, not the car itself.
